LOL, I was pointed to this website by a guildmate and it is a veritable goldmine if laughs.
First of all, they are hosting the recently
SOE-Acknowledged event "Most influential mage of all time".
After a significant length of time, the #1 nominee is currently sitting at 32 votes. Any poll on EQ2 Flames about mindless subjects such as dick growth, underwear preference, etc receive a voting total that rivals this audacious poll.
The user currently sitting in the lead is "Kaalia", whos guild is "The Brood of Everfrost". Has anyone actually heard of Kaalia? The Brood of Everfrost? Holy shit! Of course you havent.
My thoughts? If kaalia is the "+*+*+most influential mage of all time+*+*+" maybe they shouldn't be a complete and utter fucking retard about their class.
Take a loot at
their gear.
Dragonscale earrings and dragonscale belt... Hmm. I'm not even a mage and I know that the collection quest proc earring and the heritage belt are among the best a mage can choose from, yet this player clearly lacks the intelligence or drive to spend the 1-2 hours gathering these exclusive items.
One wouldn't think they raid at all, but according to this post by another no-name, I was quite wrong in this assumption:
Quote:
If you haven't voted for "Kaalia", you haven't been on one of his raids... tankers just scratch their heads and say, "Impossible! no way" and we say, "Way!"
Want a chance at "Fabled Gear" just grab hold of his flowing cloak and be drawn along into areas you would never have ventured into alone.
Kaalia is always looking for a new challenge, a new piece of armor or just an opportunity to prove his tanking abilities. Give him a "grats shout out" when you see him somewhere in the world of Norrath (Everfrost)...Everquesting!
Raiders and Tankers, don't take offense...we know "Mages Rule" and "Tankers Drool"" sending you a "Warm Fuzzy" for those who take the novelty of a Mage tanking to serious...

OOPS, my bad. My guess? If I grab onto Kaalias "flowing cloak" I'll be whisked away to a Laboratory raid full of wipes and upgrades.
Look EQ2Battlemage, if you want to attempt at choosing someone of influence, I'm pretty sure you need to have influence yourself. That begins with not having a completely butt-ugly website, and more than a trite handful of posts (some forums as low as 1).
I appreciate sites going out on a limb and trying to really engage the community, but this is a sad attempt and one you are far under qualified to host.
