Default Re: Who is BlytheSpirit?

I do not appreciate off topic 10-day-later bumps on old threads in this section.

If you want to send a message to another user, please use our PM system rather than a random thread, and especially not a thread in the "Rate A Retard" or "Your Guild Sucks "sections of this site.

As stated in our guidelines, on topic posting is more strictly enforced in these two sections than in other sections of this site. That's based on user feedback and a previous vote, where the majority of users requested these two sections to be more "serious" than the rest of this site. Please note I did not say that on topic posting is strictly *required* in these two sections, but it will be *more* required than elsewhere.

Threads in these two sections are intended to remain active only for as long as there is a current active discussion regarding the person or guild that is named in the subject of the thread. When a thread in these sections is no longer active, or is completely off topic, I will usually close it when it is needlessly bumped two weeks or more after its most recent on topic post.

Based on discussions in many prior posts on this site, I think what I said above reflects the majority view of this community on how threads in these two sections should be handled. People want to be able to flame people for cause here without having their posts edited or closed, but most also don't want to see threads endlessly revived for no good reason. Most users also want the drama in these two sections to stay real and to be worth reading.

As a matter of basic fairness, the person or guild who is the subject of a thread in these sections eventually deserves closure. Closure is deserved after this community has had a good, long chance to speak its mind about the person or guild and any particular issue or focus in the thread. Threads in these sections cannot just be revived endlessly by anyone wanting to harass the subject of the thread.

So please don't randomly bump threads in these two sections, especially a week or more after the thread has died down. If you do that, I will just assume your bump was an intentional violation of our anti-necroposting rule, and may use that as an opportunity to close the thread, unless the bump was done by a user trying to get the post closed, and then I may use that as an opportunity to close the user instead.

You are always free to start a new thread about any person or guild in this section or the Your Guild Sucks section after a previous thread about the same person or guild has been closed. Just don't needlessly revive threads after they've lived a full life and then died of natural causes.

The exception to all of the above is flames involving Admin decisions I make. I need to keep one post open in this section so that people who disagree with what I do have somewhere to bitch. So for flame posts about me in this section, I have no problem if you reuse any open thread where I am the topic, or if you start a new thread if you want to bitch about something completely unrelated to an old thread. But if you start a new thread, I will then usually close the old one for housekeeping reasons, so the discussion doesn't spin out into a dozen threads and overwhelm this site.

Thank you
