Default Make ACT track in group/raid only?

I know it's probably an unpopular suggestion, but if EQ2 actually makes the game more of a multi-player game and less of an MMO-single player game, it would be cool to limit the amount of spying other guilds do during contested fights by using ACT.

Of course this change would only effect the minority of players who actually get to fight the rare contested spawn that stands in one simple, easy to get to place in non aggro form in the EQ2 world, but in the rare situation that the devs actually put more contested mobs up for RoK, guild spying would pretty much ruin that experience for me and probably plenty others.

I wouldn't want to pull a contested over and over while another guild just hangs by (creating more lag) and studies the parse from ACT. Sure, they'll still have access to their own logs and spying will always be an issue, but don't make it easy on them.

There's nothing ACT can do about it. It is an in-game issue. Once you have the logs, you have the logs. Whether you use ACT or not, you will still be able to parse the logs.

Yea, I see that side to it and you're right. That sucks.

Then the game should put contested mobs in contested raid zones so mules can't just spy on other guilds. Oh wait, there are no zones like that

Gotta put all the raid content in persistent, instanced zones so johnny casual can have nearly the same gear as joey hardcore.

Why couldn't a guild put a mule at a contested mob in a contested raid zone? They do it already in Temple of Scale, so what would the difference be?
