File Sharing

I run EQ2 on one machine and want to run ACT on another machine. They are set up side-by-side on my network. However, I am having a bitch of a time trying to file share my log. The EQ2 system runs Vista and the other has Windows XP.

Is there an easy way to file share between these two? I have checked websites, forums, etc. and can't figure it out. I downloaded something called filezilla (per someone's advice) but can't get those to connect on the systems.

Anyone able to provide some adivice or direction? I just want to share the log file and I can't get it to work.

My laptop (XP) reads the log of my desktop (Vista). The file sharing in Vista is practically the same set up as in XP, just a few things labeled differently.

Post screenshots of you file sharing control panel and sharing properties for the EQ2 folder and I might be able to help.

Isn't FileZilla an FTP client? It won't help you at all here...

As for Vista, I have not touched it, so I can't help you there.

It's not just an FTP client. You can use it as a file server too, and it'll do everything the OP needs.

Well, it has a side project as an FTP server... but it doesn't serve files as a network share does it? Only by the FTP protocol which is insufficient for this kind of thing.

Of course I haven't used it in about a year, so who knows what crazy things they have done.

Thanks for the responses. I actually got the file sharing to work. The way the peremissions are set up that you have to change on Vista seems very wierd to me, but I am able to share the log now.
