Mage triggers
Hey.
I'm looking for something along the lines of a trigger every time a temp spell (such as Jester's) is cast on me, or if anyone is asking for a shard so that I can continue casting without having to search my chat and watch my beneficial spell window. I realize this might be lazy, I'm just looking for something more efficient than just noticing its there.

Re: Mage triggers
There is no known way to detect if someone is casting or has JC.
Since there obviously is no normalized format for asking for a shard, I don't have any good suggestions for you except put tells in a certain window or have all tells run over TTS.

Re: Mage triggers
I think you missunderstood her? It is when JCap is cast on her and not anyone else.
It is possible to make a Trigger for Shard/Jcap and others, you just need to know what the tell looks like.

Re: Mage triggers
I actually have a trigger for a jcap tell.. think its like:
.*Name tells you, "Jcap incoming"*
obviously you woudl switch 'name' with the person's name and jcap incoming with whatever they said.

LOL her?
And I don't know the first thing about this, so anytime a tell has the word shard in it, etc.
I know like Khylan used to have something set up, but I think he retired.

Could I just make it say Jcap, Jester, Jester's JCap, etc in the string?

Character names in tells are links, so that wouldn't quite work. You'd have to make a regex to match the link as well... or skip past it.

Code:
\\aPC -?\d+ [^:]+:([^\\]+)\\/a tells you, "(.*?([Ss]hard|Jcap|Jester|Jester's JCap).*)"
Is a relatively efficient if complex regex that will match someone telling you shard, JC or whatever. You can use $1, $2 and $3 in the TTS field to say the name of the character, the entire tell message and the keyword that triggered the regex, respectively.
Unfortunately things here are case-sensitive, so if there's some other capitalization variant of JC or shard you want to use, you must add it to the | delimited list.

Re: Mage triggers
Mine might be .*tells you, "Jcap Incoming"*
I will confirm later when i get home but I know that my trigger works
And yes Load you can make it say jcap or whatever you want when it triggers by switching it to TTS instead of beep or the other options available.

Re: Mage triggers
I don't understand a word of this. $1, $2, $3? What's that about?
TTS over beep? Why's that?
LOL I was hoping I could just import something like I did with AE timers.

That regex is a tiny bit strange as at the end it checks for zero or more quotation marks at the end where there will always be one. So it works fine, but is strange.

In the TTS field, if you were to enter, "$1 $3", it might say out loud, "Bardname Jcap". If you were to enter, "$1 tells you $2" it would say out loud the entire tell without the funny characters the make up a player link. But if you just want it to beep at you, that's fine. I'm just giving you all available options.
Currently, importing a Custom Trigger will clear your entire list like Spell Timers do. So I'm not sure that's a good idea. I should make it so it does not, actually.

Re: Mage triggers
Yea I just got home a little bit ago and confirmed that i have it setup as:
.*tells you, "Jcap Incoming"*
and its case sensative so you need the exact tell
