I can understand the gawdiness comment, because yes, they're pretty fucking rediculous. However, they are unique, and you're not going to see everyone with one. That's more my point than anything.

Sure, they're a bit out of control looking, but hell, I'd rather see that and go "holy fuck that thing is KKEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZYYYYY!!!111ELEVEN 11!", then see another unimaginative item model. So tired of that shit that it doesn't even matter to me anymore.

Brighter colours <> Prettier.

If anything, these ghastly peices of comic shit make EQ2's weapons look better in comparison. As you've probably seen from previous posts, I think WoW is an overall better game than EQ2 but the WoW weapon design is pure shit.

I don't know, call me old fashioned, but I like weapons to look like instruments of death, not oversized candy. I don't want pink rubber hammers, I want cast iron face smashers.

Those are hideous. If those are the best weapon models they got then I need to find a puke smiley.

If you want to post some (still pretty gaudy, but MUCH better looking) weapons and armor that put EQ2 to shame, post some Lineage 2 screens. Or for more realistic, but still better looking (also still early), find some Vanguard screens.

Graphics are always the excuse, people rather play a "real" looking game with shit mechanics, itemization, progression.etc etc etc than a "cartoony" game that's far superior. After EoF is an absolute bust of an xpac you can use the "but it looks real" line as you reflect on the $40 you wasted.

I know!

It's a lot about gameplay, too, which is far more important than graphics (which is good, since the Wii is by far the least powerful of the new systems from a graphics standpoint -- it doesn't even do HD).

What was your point?
