Default Looking for another MMO

Is FFXI any good? WoW looks too cartoony and I never did like Vanguard.

LoTRO is fun but the primary way you get exp is from quests. If you love/hate questing then i do/dont sugest it for you.

If you're into Sci Fi and can adjust to a different type of UI a lot of people I know have been trying out Tabula Rasa.

But I assume they both are since TR is not even released yet so they will have new graphics and LOTRO has better IMO.

Seriously, this game is awesome
With the latest build it's even better. It's very FPS with an MMO twist but even my gf likes it who hates FPS games and Sci Fi.

FFXI is terrible. (imo). graphics suck too, the screenies look nice but in game looks terrible.

EQ2 has very good gfx quality-wise and very few games are better even by today's standards.

LoTRO is really good, both from graphics and gameplay standpoint, especially if you like quests and LoTRO books. Graphics are awesome as well, some of the screenies make LoTRO look cartoonish, but this is an illusion, within the game it is very very well done, the Shire in LoTRO is a lot more realistic and less cartoonish than the one in EQ2 even. Some of the location-specific lighting and atmosphere is also amazingly well done. That would be my #1 recommend if you are looking for something similar to EQ2, just newer.

If you want something else, Tabula Rasa is indeed awesome and I'll be buying it on launch after a month or so in beta. It's nowhere near polished, but it's just plain fun and has the best story of any existing MMO with the exception of AO. It lacks depth and raiding, but don't let it stop you from trying it. There are a few places where you can get a beta code, as well as by paying $5 for a pre-order. Even if you don't buy it come october, $5 for a month of a brand new MMO is a bargain and you'll have fun assuming that you are open to something different.
