Default Enemy Territory: Quake Wars

D/L'ed and tried the Demo.

Seems like a shitty version of the BF series.

id used to be awesome, now it seems they be struggling to even keep up.

I personally deem it the greatest game ever made. Awarding points for destroying empty vehicles with the rocket launcher is epic win!

Quake 4 was cool (sort of) the story line of what happened to your character was kind of neat, but this one looks rather homosexual

That's because iD realized where the money was after Q2. The engine. Fuck the game. Do the engine, sell it and make billions.

ID's last good game was Q3.

The world's greatest flashlight simulator really showed the world that ID had become a relic in the industry.

id's last good game was Q1. Q2 was an abortion with flashing green lights, and Q3 carried on the tradition and added jump pads, so straight people played UT instead.

Comparing QW to BF means you didn't play either. The only things they have in common are vehicles and huge maps.

Where QW kills BF:
  • No running for 10 minutes to get to the action because you're too scared to get a vehicle for fear of getting team killed
  • Strategic objectives, rather than "lol hold these points for the entire match gusy, and there's no prerequisite points, either!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  • Better class diversity, so you're limited by more than a weapon pack
  • Objectives actually alter the map, by building bridges or adding bases, opening tunnels, or what have you
  • Engineers are more than repairmen, having to actually build objectives, as well as pick places for AA guns and turrets.

i saw a video of it seems like theyre just trying to steal bf2142s players and attract the old Castle Wolfenstein players. looks bad imo. i wont be buying it.
