WoW vs EQ2 - Page 7

WoW can suck a dick for the following reasons:

The great majority of people who play it are idiots, half of the nerds at my school play it, I am the only one who plays EQ2. I regularily mock them for playing WoW and they say how much Everqueer sucks a dick and WoW is god. I cite how shitty their PvP is, they say it is the best PvP ever, they say what the fuck is UO when I bring that up. I ask them exactly why is WoW better and they say some of the following:

WoW is getting a whole new planet in our expansion, who the fuck cares? You will probably get to play on one continent tops on that planet and even then 90% of the terrain is done using automatic techniques, making the terrain look extremely ugly from certain angles.

WoW has x classes and x races!! So what? EQ2 dominates WoW when it comes to race/class diversity.

WoW's graphics are amazing, I seriously want to take their eyes out when they say this, as they obviously don't use them. WoW's graphics are roughly equivilent to the Windwaker and EQ1 having a bastard child of a game then beating it around with a randomly generated terrain stick.

Raiding is way better! None of them raid, so they have no reason to comment on raiding in WoW. Personally there's no way I could raid WoW if one fucking encounter lasts 20 minutes.

Then they make totally idiotic statements, I say EQ2 is better, one friend of mine said "OH YEAH, WELL CAN YOU PLAY A NIGHT ELF?" Yes, but it's called a Dark Elf and it's an evil race, if you want to be a good aligned elf you can play one of the other three elf races. "Well....can they be druids?" Yes, unlike WoW which restricts players by pidgeonholing certain races into certain classes an EQ2 player gets a high measure of freedom when making a character. Any race can be any class.

From what I have seen, the majority of WoW players are myspace emos or flat out nerds (moreso than I am, which is pretty damn bad). Also the average age HAS to be lower than EQ2 based on some of the most stupid things i've seen in my life being said in some chat i've seen looking over my friend's shoulder, every server has a couple of ooc/level chat whores but I have never seen the level of stupidity that some WoW players exhibit on a daily basis in these channels, not even from the legendary Etums.

Anyways, I just play EQ2 while I wait for Darkfall to hit beta, once I get into beta i'll be as far away from EQ2 as I can get. EQ2 is the lesser of two evils.

Are you fucking kidding me? Places in the game where noone would ever think of going are just as well put together as the middle of citys...There's no roofless houses ar 3 walled buildings either. What angle are you looking at?

This is the same bullshit all you wow haters fuckin post....who gives a fuck about a chat channel? If your game is better because of less spam and thats all you got to argue with then you fuckin lose. 99% of you have never even played the game and all say the same bullshit....cartoon graphics and kids in chat channels....come up with some better shit than that..please!

Funny how you assume I relic farm just because I don't have enough time to sit around doing one fight for 20 minutes assuming there are roughly the same ammount of encounters per zone. My guild has killed everything except Chel'Drak, Curor and the contesteds (which we havn't killed due to not having signifigant numbers online at the times they spawn). I generally raid 3 or 4 days a week and i've never done a relic farming run once.

As far as graphics go, I don't care, I only said that I think anyone who can say WoW is better than EQ2 in that area is blind. Darkfall isn't designed to be pretty really, and all of the screenshots on that page are over three years old, check the news forums for more recent ones.

I'm going to jump on this bandwagon here because, well... if you can't play a game for longer than 15 minutes before you jump to idiotic conclusions about it, then you deserve to get cancer and diaf.

Moving on.

My example of why WoW is better than EQ2 is simple, and was essentially the primary reason I quit that piece of shit back in September 2005.

Peacock quest anyone?

Long and involved 35+ step quest that granted a gay ass reward when you finally got to zone into the Boss instance without crashing and losing all of your stones. Yeah. That's content at it's finest - complete and working! Cockwhores. It took them, what? Nearly a month to fix the item reward for finishing it? Even then, it was retarded as fuck and sucked compared to Prismatic v1.

I heard that DNT (www.dtguilds.com) had a mob that bugged on them in Naxx... Blizzard had an entire TEAM of people work on it over the weekend, a fucking HOLIDAY weekend mind you, and fix it for them, the entire time communicating with the guild.

You can if you really want, Scafloc. There is a file in the install directory, which tells your client where to get the server list from. You can change it to get the US servers, instead of the EU ones.

You'll have to use google fu, to find out the specifics though.
