My nephew unpacked the boxes today at GameStop; he's a total goober and took 3 days off work so he could play it. I did try out the beta but to me it looks and feels the same.

Bullshit!

I'm not a fanboi, but I still enjoyed Halo 1's game play and the story of the Halo universe is very well thought out for your typical FPS game. I won't be getting Halo 3 because I didn't see the reason to sink almost $400 for one game (I don't have a 360, prefer PC games).

I don't understand how you can like any FPS and not like Halo 1/2. Halo 1 got a little old when everyone would walk around with the obviously overpowered pistol right off the respawn and cap you from across the level. Halo 2 was a little disappointing level wise, and I thought while duel wielding was cool, the weapons could have been better.

But still, how can the game not be good. At worst it will be a marginal improvement on an already enjoyable FPS.

The game excels in multiplayer battle which basically will make or break the game. A shitty campaign will not be responsible for any less games sold, IMO at least.

Why is it overrated? Maybe halo 2 was over hyped but the game is fun and has a good story line, what else do you want?

Tribes > Halo (PC versions that is, the PS2 version of Tribes was mediocre with autoaim)

Tribes2 wasn't much of a game, but Tribes1 and Tribes Vengeance were far better games than Halo. The only reason Halo is getting so much hype is that they were the first ones to enter the console market with a "decent" FPS. That still doesn't make it a great game when stood alongside PC FPS games, not to mention you can't create mods and custom maps for it.

I personally would have a hard time playing H3 on a PC. It just doesn't stack up to the comfort of my LR.
