WoW *HAS* to release major dungeons for free because they take two years to release expansions :P
|
HAHA, okay, I'll give you that. =p But still... 2 expansions that have been released broken by SoE with another on the way ( probably broken too ) versus 1 by Blizzard that is delayed to ensure it's functionality.
I'd rather wait 2 years

I thought that was the plan - is there enough raid content in EoF to keep busy raiding 6 days a week, on EoF alone?
I shudder to think about raiding DT week after week through 200fucking7 in the hopes of getting one rare item that might drop every once in a while. I'm just not sure if I can do that.
The question is, I guess, how many days per week of raid content is in EoF?

In all honesty, no matter HOW much there is, it won't be enough. There's only so many times you can farm the same instances or raids without getting bored to tears and tearing your own heart out. * nod * Less of course you only raid like 2 or 3 days a week. Then you might be able to make it last a bit longer...

As much as I agree with your general idea that Blizzard is making a good decision by holding off thier expansion, the statement you made right here is completely untrue. What you fail to realize is that during those two years EQ2 released two expansions, not one. Don't forget about PPR, DMP, FoL, GoAA, PoS, the PoF contesteds, Terrorantula, the orc in clefts, and anything else DoF related. On top of that there was the T'Haen zone, AoW, BAoW, that x2 zone in splitpaw, and SotL. And then theres T7! Labs, Lyceum, Deathtoll, 3 contesteds, HoS, Matron, Chel'Drak, Bonesnapper, Xux'Liao, AoA, ToS, Harla Dar, and anything else I might have forgotten.
Before you say anything I listed has become outdated and essentially useless, keep in mind that all of the current raid gear in WoW can and will be easily replaced with 5 man instance greens or blues. At this point what it comes down to is; everything that Blizzard has added over the past 2 years as far as raid content goes is going to be obsolete with the release of TBC, which is the same problem that drove so many people from EQ2 when DoF was released.
Moral of the story: spend 2 years adding onto the game without any level increase, and when the day of that expansion finally hits, 2 months or 2 years, it's all the same.

Re: TBC Delayed for polish
The biggest thing Blizzard did to satisfy the masses before their first expansion was Battlegrounds. EQ2 has a worthless pvp system, and WoW's is getting revamped sometime soon to make it work even better. I have no clue if SOE has any plans to take theirs to the next level.
2 years for an expansion is, nowadays, too long. But it's been 2 fuckin' years, what's another 2 months? That's the mentality these companies all need to adhere to.

Lyceum? Halls? Sotl?
Lyceum=hos=existing zone
Sotl=CT
Gaige you got to be fucking kidding me, EQ2 releases alot of "new" content allright, but it's old content that allready sucked with a few added mobs and a lockout. I'm starting to feel sorry for people that are all gung ho EQ2, it's just sad.

Welcome to the world of level cap release, why are people surprised when this happens?

Art takes the longest time to develop. So I don't care if they reuse dungeons if it means we get more zones and more shit to do.
Like I said Naxxramas happened because Blizzard makes enough money to be able to let Tigole spend a ton of hours developing content and a zone for a teeny amount of WoW players.
Unfortunately, every other MMO in existence except WoW can't afford to do that.

And in the sad world of economics, this makes WoW a better game simply because they have the resources to make shit like that. Not having money shouldn't be an excuse for poor content or broken releases, but everyone seems okay with the fact that it happens time and time again.
"Oh they'll just patch in a fix for <insert broken quest/raid/reward> soon. <hold breath>".
Ultimately, we're to blame for accepting this over and over instead of holding the game companies responsible.
