Apparently its an MMO distributed by SOE similar to the way Vanguard was handled, i accidentally stumbled on it while searching through the SOE site for that subscription free MMO mentioned in the GMG thread. (I didn't find it btw)

I haven't checked very thoroughly but it seems ok at first glance anyway.
Anyone know more about this game? Or better yet, tried it out?

In addition to running Ten Ton Hammer EQ2 site I also admin the Gods and Hero site so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I've done a couple interviews, hung around their forums, and saw the demo at E3 so I promise I'm not speaking from completely ignorance. The graphics engine is absolutely beautiful. I didn't see a lot at the demo but what I did see was amazing.

Their combat system is supposed to be more involved versus the static use and queue we have in EQ2. They'll supposedly have a system to grapple your opponent and throw them as well.

An interesting feature they have (which will turn a number of people away from the game as well) is the minion feature. Depending on your class you'll be able to control up to 8 creatures and use squad combat. Now I've seen a lot of people say this is just a replacement for groups so people can solo whatever, but in fairness enough really isn't known about it yet.

Some downsides I see personally? No crafting at launch (although they do say it will make it in game). Also, it's niche. Real niche. If you are in to Roman themes and mythology it might turn your head a little. I don't expect it to "be the next big thing" but I can see it grabbing a little bit of a following and seeing some success.

An important difference I should mention though is that SOE will be doing nothing but the publishing and marketing for GnH. They will not be supporting the game after it's launch and Perpetual will have ownership of that. I don't think they wanted to get slapped into the Station Pass.

Anyways...as much as I loathe self-pimping... feel free to stop by http://gods.tentonhammer.com/index.php . They are still in "core beta" and a lot of what we write is speculation but we have regular content there.

Hmm yeah, that does sound both interesting and not so interesting at the same time but from a more casual/group type of view. Maybe something to pass time while waiting on that "next big thing" or if you don't have a lot of time to play.
Has there been any mention of endgame stuff yet as far as raids/pvp and those type of things goes yet?

As for the distribution thing that might explain why I've heard so little about it, i literally stumbled on it without ever even hearing the name before. The fact that SOE won't be handling anything but distribution and marketing can be both a good thing and a bad thing i guess.

Anyway thanks for the info, ill keep an eye on it.
