Of the 3 tank classes, guardians will soak the most damage up, but they do less dps than the other tanks. Conquerers have auras that benefit their grps and Dark templars have life taps and use magic. They are very SK like. All can tank group stuff but only Guardians have access to full plate so they will be MT of a raid.

Heralds also get a "tank mode" Basically a limited duration buff that shapechanges you into a demon that can take a lot more damage than the average cloth wearer. They also get some taunts, and they're really meant to be the stygian tank...

unfortunately, in PVP, you don't really have time to stand around and throw up a 3 second cast time buff while wearing cloth... And I can't imagine this working on raids unless every raid mob dies in less than 30 sec... If you're an RP stygian, start hoping the demonologist or Necro will have some kind of pet that can soak up damage and taunt...

there is some gayness to this game... Pets don't cross zone lines... Just another slap across the titties for stygians, I guess...

8 hours lawl, i can load up a lvl 1 toon with enough collections to ding 20 in 30 minutes.

Comparisons aside, AoC has set a new benchmark in visual, in game map use, and all around polish. I really hope WAR is up to the task because if the raiding is even remotely good in AoC, it might be a short battle.

This pisses me off so much as a necro, but I'm sure it will be fixed soon enough, as it only effects certain zone lines. Be it the majority, but there are some where my pets stay with me.

But yea, I'm planning on people complaining about it a lot and it getting changed little after release.

Guardians can be spec'd 2 different ways. Sword& Board, or Polearm that you spec using Feats.
I am playign with a friend who is Polearm while I went S&B. We are both hitting 30 and there are differences. Seems the more you use a skill there is a difference in it's upgrade. He has recieved different skill upgrades then me because he is more dps orented. Well at least he is acquiring at different levels.
Most of your CAs have inate taunt abilities, so there is no shouting thus far for tauntting. Also you get skill points, roughly 40 per level which are applied to things like,climbing,fast healeing,recovery,etc...
There is a Taunt Skill which if you are planning on MT with then max this out.

You can always reset your Skill and Feat points for a cost.

The Templar is like the SK, but better, and the Conquerer I will say is like a EQ2 zerker combined with LotRO Captain, tons of DPS and buffs.

I absolutely LOVE this game, but I have 2 sandy vagina complaints.

1.) People are using "deep" water as a crutch to not get raped in pvp because you can't melee and swim at the same time. I could see swimming to escape from battle, but to only be 5 feet away and not be able to do shit while they sit there and laugh is kinda dumb. As a barbarian, my ranged dps sucks compared to their innate regen. Might not be an issue for casters, but it's just an observation.

2.) I've had a ton of caster pets find me in stealth even when the person him/herself isn't even near me.

Otherwise, has been a great game despite the fact that on Doomsayer, it's like the official French Canadian populace. People have been ripping them apart for the French guild recruitment spam.
