They did ALOT of testing the last 2 weeks on closed beta and i think that helped a lot... in the last week there was a patch every day it seemed, around 600-700 mb each.

Sadly, this is how leveling in MMOs is these days and it's never gonna go back to the EQ days. The leveling in EQ2 is faster IMO, but after lvl 20 you run out of huge xp quests and are forced to grind which makes it slower cause xp groups in early levels for EQ2 don't exist.
I only have 1 issue with AoC and it's a big one. These funcom euro trash mother fuckers like to do every thing on their time, so in the middle of the god damn day we get a fucking 6 hour update. It's really starting to piss me off, and if they don't adjust it I don't see myself playing in the long run.

Oh cmon Illuzian lol... how do you think it is for people in Europe who play an American ran game? For example, like eq2, where their server downtimes are way longer than the US server downtimes..

and why do you care about euro trash? they are want to be socialist, chain smokers and dont shower, and bad mouth the usa first chance they get, there evening news is a put down the usa for 1/2 hour fest..cause we dont do like child porn and elect porn stars we are bible thumbers to them....
besides all that usa is the biggest market so they need to fix that for sure.
anyway, leveling is normal, if you play right read the quests, explore get into the game, and dont worry about leveling the progress is fine, i played 2 hours and level 6.
people can speed read books in 2 hours too, but its not the same thing,,,
