i read on the AoC forums that takin the gfx settings to the High option then turning off particles and Bloom and dropping to shader 2.0 greatly increases performance if you have a machine that is above average but not beastly. i gave it a shot last night and sure enough i got a huge performance boost and it still looks pretty darn good

Max settings apart from antialiasing and anisotropic filtering both at 8x. Average fps is about 28 (about 25-32 most of the time) and rarely drops down (unlike in EQ2).

I'm running a dual AMD 5000+ with 4 gigs of RAM and a 8800 GTX OC. I'm getting between 25-60 fps on maximum settings. In comparison to EQ2, I used to raid and "non-raid" with balanced settings, particles off, and ranged between 5-30 fps.

So far this game has absolutey sucked for me. The lag has made it nearly unplayable. I know alot of people have got in without issue. But my system is above the recommended level and should breeze thu without any problems. FPS goes from 60 to 1 about 2-3 times a minute.

Beyond that, Im only level 11 at the moment and so far havent seen what all the hype is about the game. One of my friends is almost 50 and still soloing. It just doesnt seem as great as all the beta people claimed it to be. We'll see tho.. ill give it a full month before canceling my account.

i got a above spec pc as well the lag is bad yes and i couldnt see a great deal when i 1st got in game i need to up grade pc thats a sure thing to play it but going into low mode and turning all setting down low as i can i can play it. It is still laggy at times and if zones fill up. up grade all drivers thats a must de frag etc all that stuff helps, but yes you need 1 meaty pc to see this game thats for sure

Strange, I've heard a lot of complains about performance but I run amazingly well (>80 normally, except in cities ~60).

I love everything about this game so far. My only gripe is the really long 1-20 tutorial, but I understand that it's a necessary evil in order to advance the plot.

My views on this are based on two things..

One being the fact that my buddy is level 50 and soloed the entire way there. I cant help but think of RoK when I hear shit like this. I thought the purpose of playing a game of this manner was to take part in content that involved more players then just yourself. Especially in the later parts of the game.

The other thing that hasnt impressed me was all the talk of the so called "advanced combat system". Im not really seeing how dividing attack into 3 bttons is so advanced and ahead of what we had in EQ.

The blood on hits is a nice effect but the novelty did wear out already and im only lvl 12. Other then that, Im still not sure how this is suppose to be that much different then EQ2.

It's nothing like RoK because group xp is a ton faster -- you just have the option to solo.

You really can't evaluate the game at level 12, the tutorial doesn't even end till 20.
