Yeah, she has that option, and I know how to go back to Tortage after you leave (my assassin finished the quest and has since leveled to 30) but my wife is not wanting to skip the quest. She enjoys reading the storylines behind it.
So unless there's a way off the island without deleting/skipping that quest, then I guess she's stuck until someone actually answers her petitions.

In RL when i collide with a bump I just put creme on it, so unless they fix that I will still be only 9/10 on this game.

Re: Age of Conan reviews
This collision with every blade of grass really does my head in, but since I intend to play this game rather casually I don't care too much. I have played EQ2 for 3 years, I should be used to some "irregularities" ^^ and will give it, let's say, 2 months to better before I start whining.
I am level 35 now and I still really enjoy it, but am pausing a little bit atm to wait for the mentioned new rig, since my current system is nearly 5 years old (with some upgrades) and deserves its retirement .

Yay! I get to hold off on buying a new vid card because of you guys :P Updating nvidia drivers did wonders for my performance (nearly tripled my fps, even in Tortage) giving me the opportunity to actually turn on shadows/shaders/reflections and whatnot. Just like seeing the game for the first time all over again, and it's freakin gorgeous! Hit 28 tonight on my DT btw

Or, level 19 only takes about 3 hours of good, intelligent play, once you know where everything is, you could make a toon and grind it to 19 faster than you would get a response out of GMs.
It's not an ideal solution, but If I were motivated enough to not wait, I'd do it. Hell, I've had multiple lvl 20+'s at this point because folk I wanted to join the game with just keep changing servers... "Oh noes! 5 people on Wiccana are threatening to become an unofficial RP server, we'd better move!" ... dumbasses.
Personally, I'm tired of following folk around. I'm tired of seeing tortage over and over again. I'm making my wife change over to the omm server to play with my barb there, since that's been my favourite character so far.

Re: Age of Conan reviews
Hi guys and galls.
Could you answer a few questions for me please?
1) Any idea when the AoC forums will be available for public read-only?
2) Any reccomended unnofficial AoC sites? AoCwiki like?
3) I heard the night/day cycle is solo/multiplayer respectively. How does that work? To people just vanish at sundown?
4) There is mentoring, right? One of my fave features from EQ2
5) Can you get makeovers like in EQ2?
6) Can you sit in chairs?!?
7) Is it possible to 'scale down' the blood effects? Nobody has that much blood inside them, and I like realism.
8) No player housing, right?
9) Is there a limit to the amount of character slots you have?
10) Whats the downtime like currently?
Thankee!

There is no official date when they will be opened but they will be opened sooner than later.
2) Any reccomended unnofficial AoC sites? AoCwiki like?
Nothing i know of as of yet, the game is still fairly new.
3) I heard the night/day cycle is solo/multiplayer respectively. How does that work? To people just vanish at sundown?
This day/night cycle is only during the newbie area, called Tortage, you do the timeline quest for the nighttime (solo) part and you can only progress it at certain levels. To meet those levels you go to the day time (where you will have other players) and do solo quests or group with people.
4) There is mentoring, right? One of my fave features from EQ2
Mentoring in AoC is called apprenticeship and instead of the higher level becoming the lower level, the lower leveled person becomes the level of the person mentoring them. The lower level person still keeps their current abilities (not gaining new ones), however they are able to go and kill mobs that are con to the person mentoring them and gaining a tad more xp off each mob. (they just put in a fix for this, capping the xp you can gain per level)
5) Can you get makeovers like in EQ2?
Not that I know of.
6) Can you sit in chairs?!?
I want to say that certain things you can click on and sit down, but not every chair in the game. I think a guildie of mine had sat down on something a week ago and couldnt figure out how to stand up.
7) Is it possible to 'scale down' the blood effects? Nobody has that much blood inside them, and I like realism.
Like laodaron mentioned, there is an option to make the game less bloddy and censor nudity.
8) No player housing, right?
Not indvidually, however there is player cities you build.
9) Is there a limit to the amount of character slots you have?
8 i think
10) Whats the downtime like currently?
Nothing worth making note of. I have been able to play when I have the time to play, which is mostly in the evenings after work. And it was up most of the weekend.
Thankee!

Re: Age of Conan reviews
Thanks for the quick replys <3
Another couple of questions...
Apart from the guild city wars, is there much organised PvP going on? I understand the game will still only be finding it's feet, but how is it shaping up? Is it just random chaos and kiddies ganking, or are there organised raids and such?
One thing I miss about WoW is the RP-PvP community - in character events and such, like city attacks, kill the messenger, king of the hill, ambush the caravan, take and hold, etc. Big server events, like gladiator tournaments, pre-arranged battles and skirmishes, etc.
What are the RP-PvP servers in AoC like? Is the RP enforced at all, or are griefers and dickheads running around being pricks, disrupting RPers? What is the maturity level of the typical RP-PvPer? Are players and guilds starting to set up a good tone with regards to a violent, warlike and lore fitting atmosphere? That's kinda what I'm hoping for more than anything else.
Thanks again.
