Reports from general beta (from people I trust) say the gameplay is pretty solid so far. Its very easy to level up however so I urge anyone interested in AoC to ask for end game content at release, we dont want another Vanguard. Even with the steep leveling curve people hit max in weeks and had nothing to do. Pretty sure Elanias guild suffered this consequence iirc. Theyre still working on finishing classes and higher level content so they have a lot of work to do in only 3 months time.

Some interesting things that have been noted as strong/positive are environmental triggers/scripts, using shadows to pull/avoid mobs (very much like Oblivion) and of course the directional combat system.

I know they've shown videos of at least one raidzone and have posted in detail the raid tier system including how many raids and mobs there are on launch.

According to what I have read on the AOC forums, there will be 8 raid dungeons in 3 tiers and 20 bosses at launch. Thats as far as PVE content. Seiges and warfare should be available for PVP at launch as well.

Its a niche game, the high graphics requirements cut out a lot of the customer base at release. Also the engine being as terrible as it is doesnt help either, think 3 raid PvP. Once AoC and WHO (not looking too hot) release, the chance to pick up new customers gets worse. AoC will sort of be the same as far as customer base in the beginning, if they get over a million ill be stoked.

If youve got a healthy amount of disposable income and want a backup or something to do in the meantime, I hate to say it but WoW is worth checking out if you havent already. The population is strong, new content comes regularly and the PvP is fun and engaging. Unfortunately youll need to deal with very bland dungeons, a myriad of instanced zones, copy paste graphics, gangs of retards who think theyre 1337 doodz because they can watch a timer etc etc. Hmm the negatives outweigh the positives dont they, nm.
