ESPECIALLY since AoC is NOT twitch. You say hit left side, opponent says defend left side and then the computer, behind the scenes, rolls a die to see what happened.

It's more like attack the left side and the computer starts defending the left, use a combo to attack the right side, if the comptuer catches you using this combo in time it will switch defenses to the side that the combo finishes up on. I've had that happen to me a lot.

Heh, Gaige your confusing me with someone else. I'm not touting AOC for shit nor am I saying its amazing. Put the pipe down. I simply said it was something new to try and that I heard great feedback from the people I know in beta. Yeah I got caught up in VG and TR and yeah I have learned from these experiences however, I'm not so cynical as to discount everything else new that comes down the pike. I try and remain optimistic. MMO gaming is a genre I enjoy and I want more games to come out to waste my money on

if only to say they suck. Its about choice, and AOC is simply another choice.

Yeah I feel pretty much the same way. I'm gonna try it for a few days because a friend is begging me to play but I have no expectations of it being any different from anything else and certainly not better.

Vanguard was a total piece of shit at launch. I gave it a good try but that game just sucked. Hell it could be the best thing out there right now and I wouldn't go back after that bad experience.

I was moreso specifically referring to PvP.

I prefer Tibia...Gaige I have obviously played eq2 and AoC and for me and thousands of others it's the better game...I can't even login eq2 anymore without gagging (I did play an SK so that's a given anyway)...I forced myself to play VG and hated every minute...AoC is a hook

That game gets old 2 months after an expansion launches once literally everything is beaten.

AoC with its EQ1 bard-like controls will flop disasterously after a few months and thousands of new carpal tunnel cases! Warhammer is the next best hope before the Fallout MMO.

I was touting the fact that ppl refer to PvP in AoC as "next gen twitch style" when it ISN'T.

You press left attack, I press left defend and then the computer behind the scenes rolls the dice JUST like any other MMO.

THAT is what I was referring to. All they did was change auto attack from a toggle to a 3 way directional click fest.

Although I did like Killer Instinct and I've heard the button mashing combo loving style of AoC has a lot of similarities to that, so you never know!

its actually a 5 way directional fest you "learn" at higher levels...Everyone will macro them into combos anyway
