Well, is AO eq1? Same company?
Thats what I thought.
Regardless, who cares about AoC if u dont like it? Stop being asses to ppl that want to give it a shot (im not one but whatever).
Theres no need to get in a hissy fit about all this.

If i don't do my combo just right, I don't get the shiny ability. So in that sense it's very different where all you need in EQ2 is to press the "combo/ca" and stuff happens.
Sounds fairly different to me, and after playing MMO's for sometime, then playing this open beta, I'm confident in saying there's a difference.

The game has been free for some time as well as they been trowing out free copies whit Norwegian mags since 2003-4 just to get some subs and try to keep it up...
Funcom is Horrible to mange stuff and to Hold a launched game, they have no idea how to test or to fix shit... AOC will be no different.
The Preorder number is because of the IP not the game play and once you realise its the same shit or worse then eq2 you been blinded by Hype and IP

You're a dumbfuck. You're argument is that because the old Larry Bird Celtics won a bunch of tournaments, that the new ones should.
AO was a sinking ship, they realised this, that's why they gave away the game for free. You know why Sony keeps charging for EQ1? Because they want money, and will do whatever it takes to make money. Like, make up a fake card game and sell it for real money to morons willing to buy anything.
As for the "not fixing anything", I have seen more fixes in the 2 week open beta than I've seen in MONTHS on EQ2, and it's already making money. So don't try that "nothing" will change argument, it's already bullshit.

You can also dodge using the double taps on directional keys. Plus, since abilites aren't automatic, you need to think about what you are going to do in PVP, like if you are level 80 and going to use a combo on someone that takes a few buttons, odds are they will have time to get out of the way. Also, you can double tap forward and land an attack using your forward momentum and stun your enemy. The system is not totally groundbreaking, but it is different and refreshing to me.

These AoC dev's are probably the most dedicated dev's I've seen in a long time. It's crunch time right now with the clock ticking on launch, and these guys are patching daily on beta. Actually I think they've patched twice today. They are doing a great job too, game is running very smooth, and they are constantly working on more polish.

q: you know why any company exists?
a: to make money
you going to buy equipment, pay developers, package the game, etc with your good looks?
they still charge for eq1 because there is a demand for its services, if they didnt charge when people are willing to pay for the service, they would be fools and deservingly out of business.

Re: Age of Conan
I don't know why you guys are flaming them for giving the game away for free. EQ1 gave away free game CD's in PC gamer back in like '01 or '02.

I wasn't knocking it, I was explaining to the other idiot who was trying to use it in a horrible example.
