First I wanna say these forums are great! With the ass-kissing out of the way, I wanna ask a question.

I was in a pug, I looted a legendary plate armor piece. AFTER the loot the bard asked the paladin if he would like the piece, he said sure.. I asked if he needed it, he said no, he had better equipped armor and would just sell it, so I kept it.. about 15 minutes later, said bard asked me if I gave the pally the piece, I said no, he didn't need it so I kept it, since I won the (greed) roll. He then left the group and proceeded to call me a loot-pig and a piece of trash.

I tried to explain the whole "need before greed" thing, but he just called me names and said he put me on ignore. Now, am I wrong in keeping the piece, even though the paladin would of just sold the piece that I kept (and am selling myself, just to flesh out the details)? I stayed in the group after he left, and the other group members were pretty confused.. The paladin didn't care one bit.

Ya think this fellow is "rate-a-retard" material, or was he right? Should any class that can use a piece of equipment, even though it's not an upgrade, get said piece just because they CAN use it? If it was an upgrade, I would of handed it over in a second. I just take offense to someone calling me a greedy pig, when I'm a poor-ass brigand (lvl 44 brigand with only 2p 90g to my name) that never needs any non-upgrade equip, and I definitely am not a greedy-pig ninja looter...

Yeah, I forgot the name of the item (sold on the broker for a whopping 20g) but it was a low 40's, the paladin was in his 50's and was wearing mastercrafted.. After back checking my logs I see the bard actually rolled on the piece too, but lost.. apparently after losing it he thought it would be a great idea for me to fork it over to the paladin, since it was plate armor and he could possibly use it..

I dunno, maybe he was pissed he didn't get it and thought I shouldn't either? Or maybe he's some anal-retentive person who thinks everyone should follow his word to the letter? I have met some pretty strange people, but this guy seemed pretty normal up-until he threw the hissy fit over armor that he couldn't use, nor anyone need.. If everyone needed on armor they could use but do not need in anyway, that would cut down on alota loot for other people to sell.

*shrug* the matter is pretty much over in my book, the guy is on my ignore also and I'll be sure to avoid him like the plague, it was just a strange encounter, since I've never heard of this "rule" he was touting in my MMO career. I know I follow the loot rules, and if I win a fabled piece someone could use as an upgrade, I would happily hand it over in the hopes the same would happen when the shoe is on the other foot.
