Default DON vs Lucanic Saber

I use GDoH in Primary and DON Secondary. I have attemted to parse using DON and the Lucanic Saber on same mobs with only self buffs (Maintaining GDoH as Primary.). The results have totally confused me.

I appear to be dpsing "slightly" higher with the DON, however, with the LS my piercing damage jumps from the high 20's low 30's, to the low 40's. Which weapon is better?

Any help would be appreciated as it will be awhile before I can get anything better than these three weapons.

Also, after LU38 will the difference in delay ( 1.6 vs 4 ) make the LS better than the DON anyway?

The Lucanic is better. it sounds like you have something else going on.

I noticed that you can make the parser display primary and secondary weapon separately, if you put a +12 Poison damage adornment on one of the weapons.

Makes it easier to have a look at them individually. Of course, if you want to be 100% accurate, you'll have to subtract the +12 damage bonus afterwards.
