DPS issue/question

So last night we raided MMIS...this is a zone where I usually parse between 2200-2500 and higher.

I was grouped with:
Warden/Ranger/Berzerker/Mystic/Illusionist

Doing nothing different, I struggled to parse more than 1400-1500 on each fight. This was using tender poisons, all specials, etc.

On one named I popped 2 Zek Miracles, Tactics potion, all specials, decap, even the fucking werewolf paw, and I BARELY broke 2k. I have pretty decent gear, all EoF, using Soulfire Sabre and RoD.

Any ideas?

I watched our recruit assassin who has worse gear destroy me on the parse...he had a dirge and fury buffing him with agitate.

I think you answered your own question and what I have been saying forever

its not about gear,,,,,

its about group set up and player skill.

he had a better group set up.

Did you have illusory arm or did the ranger? Beyond that, the only thing you get from that group is haste and a tiny bit of DPS. The buffs there aren't that good.

Yeah, I figured the group buffs were not helpful. I think the single biggest helping class for us is Dirge...7.5% crit increase with Dont Kill the Messenger and Luck of the Dirge for poison triggers. Agigtate (fury buff) is prolly the single best melee buff as well, so it figures he would parse real well with lesser gear.

So frustrating when what you normally do doesnt work due to group setup.

Haste by itself is worthless, that's why. Especially if your gear isn't great.

** Edit: OK not "worthless" but if you just have an illusionist giving you haste, or a Fury giving you agitate, you're not gonna do shit. You need at least a bard or something with those buffs to make them decent.

Dirge Alone is better then all the buffs you coulda got from your Grp...

Tomb's Calm, Dissonant Boon (hitting the mob = dps), COB (Specially with 3 set is hard to beat).

So basically. You had SHIT for a Grp, ASSN's can do good dps with hardly any buffs, but for them to really shine as t1 dps they REQUIRE a Dirge.

You can do pretty well with some other groups, but then you require a pretty good mix. For example, Illu/Troub/Fury, Illu/Troub/Templar, Illu/Inquis/Defiler/Zerker (for alacrity) are pretty decent. But yeah a dirge is better than any other single buffer and most sets of buffers.

Assuming you use poisoned seeds and 7 set, what does your zonewide % look like for poison? Please list any proc increasers in the group. Would be helpful to have both EH & MIS numbers.

I seem to average about 13% zone with tender poisons & dirge. A bit more with templar/mystic/warlock.
