Surrounding Attacks is 28% with 8 points. Those extra attacks will trigger procs as well. Im not sure if they can trigger poison, but I know they triggered my robe of battle, so its possible.

Heres what it amounts to, its extra DPS on group encounters that you wouldnt have otherwise. I see nothing wrong with that. EoF was mostly single target stuff, look for RoK to have more group encounters. My DPS went way up on Avatar adds when I specced to STA.

Heres why Freezing Strike is useful, if you take the points out of Malignant Mark than you cant get to Cloaked Assault and therefore have to put them in Freezing Strike. Also, I soloed a lot and the longer root did make a difference.

Since you aren't even 70 yet and probably dont raid much if at all the benefits wont be as large. Plus you probably dont have any of the good weapons. With a 4sec weapon that extra attack on a group mob is anywhere from 1-2k dmg depending if it crits or not.

Definately test stuff out to see for yourself what you like, but unless things drastically change from now to level 80, that spec I posted, which Vaanir posted earlier, will be the best for RoK endgame.

Ahh so it is 28%, I was looking at this site for that info since I aint in-game. That's a hell of alot better than 16% and will come down to what RoK has. As far as Raiding, I've been everywhere except MMIS and EH. My experience is that I have little to do with adds, I go after the big guy and if adds pop the MA taunts them off and I keep hitting the big guy. My point is assassins can't deal with group encounters as well as many other classes, but few classes can deal single-target damage as well as an assassin can. So in my situation my biggest issue is survival since I don't have all top-end gear and before anyone acquires the RoK gear, I believe it may be the same to come.

As far as Freezing Strike while soloing, yeah it is definitely helpful but right now I'm soloing the first part of Acad trying to get that friggin Earring (which refuses to drop). Anyway I still don't see root lasting 12 seconds. MM helps alot though since it helps it trigger off early and more often. Frontload is by far the bigger impact in soloing with the right gear in my situation.

I'm not disagreeing that your's and Vaanir's setup isn't going to be the best (I agree) but it also goes by what gear you have and overall tactics to make it the best. Right now I aint in a guild with 24 constant players so most my Raiding is with Pick-up raids, nor do I have the best gear to always survive raids. Which is why I am trying to increase my Health over alittle more DPS. Once I get some top-end gear I will most likely respect into Surrounding Attacks since I will no longer need such an emphasis on survival.

BTW where does Robe of Battle drop??

The root works great if you're using your bow. Don't use your DOTs beforehand as each time they take a tick it's a chance to dispell. Obviously, having it mastered improves it as well. What I do is kite them with root+snare and then go to max range. It very rarely breaks before the whole duration and then they crawl to you..

Yeah I use Freezing Strike when going out to range as well but when dealing with more than one mob in the encounter when soloing I hit the toughest mob with this, and then work on the weaker one. Buys alittle time.

Instead of relying on Freezing Strike I completely change up my Poison line-up. Instead of Hemotoxin I use Vitality Breech, along with Enfeebling, and Stupefying. That's my typical line-up with poisons when soloing. With Frontload active its pretty efficient. Also using Defensive Stance, and some good solo gear with a Miracle ready for good measure I have no issues with soloing. My personal best now is a 68^^^ heroic at level 66, the first named draog in HoF. Took 4 attempts but did it.

I wouldn't combo Enmesh with Freezing since in a tough fight you want them both to last there full duration as much as possible. Same with Cheap Shot.

Fair enough. But let's not assume ROK is the same as EOF in the last ~2 updates.

We know that for the vast majority of the KOS/EOF period, the KOS-AA lines were hotly contested for rogues. Your particular weapon, buffs, and even style of play played an intricate role in which line you took. It's not far fetched to think that in ROK this will be true again.

Plus, our EOF AAs are horrible. 20 more points is basically 1% more dps. I think only Zerkers are as bad as us in EOF AAs, and they're probably better..

Have to say I am pretty happy with another 40AA.

28% chance of multi-attack (and the added procs from it) from sta line plus the extra stealth or AE avoid of Getaway and some added dps from boosting physicality line is a lot better than some classes are getting.

Is also nice to have 8% more dmg at all combat arts after stealth. And Deagro nice too

I'd rather have the AE because it's the only way I'm behind on dps right now.. but it will be fun experimenting with some different options. If there's no tender-like poisons, perhaps str/sta/wis might be interesting too.

The problem I have with the wis line is it just goes against concealment in terms of how it operates. I tend to rip off all the stealth attacks with concealment for the most part. To maximize wis you'd have to change that up but it seems like you'd lose a bit that way. I guess we'll have to see.

I'm not very enthusiastic about the Assassin tree with more than 20 points, but I like that we have some options in KOS.

Are rangers screwed in KOS with 20 more points or what?
