Those numbers confuse me gonzo. Where did your other 1200dps come from? You said you did not hit the corsolander with melee auto-attack, right? I know i never do, he's got a nasty dmg shield, so I back up to where I am out of range and use CAs and bow auto-attacks.

because you can fight Corsolander with melee and not get hit by his damage shield or joust in attack till you are low health and back out for a heal.

No I hit with melee here and there but most of my melee (non-magical) damage was with a bow. Alot of the Damage came from Poison, MM, constant Dots, and I got off several sneak attacks. In a 3 minute fight thats 3 concealment chains, and I got off Killing Blade twice, finishing blow 3 times, and Decap. Yeah you have to be careful with his damage shield but if you got your Heat Resist gear and a fury in your group. 8k and higher Heat resist, its possible to negate a nice portion of the damage you take plus the Furies HoT will keep you going awhile. Alot of my close ranged attacks were CA's and I burned them at a steady pace, not smashing and really trying to time it (works well with Fury HoTs). You can stand a certain distance and time Ranged auto-attack with melee CA's as well as Ranged ones. Just make sure you joust out when his AoE is set to go off.

Ahh i see, so it was a pretty typical fight. For me corsolander isn't. Thats a nice chunk of damage from the bow.

you can melee him regularly . Just need to position him into a pillar and find the good spot behind a lower wall part of it to melee thru. Once you find it (need to be rdy to stop attack during your search) ,and while the tank keep it well, you fight normally without joust or heals or ranged.

Tell your lazy healers to actually heal you.. If you get into the low orange, just back off til they do and range it, or if the AOE is coming.

You don't need to use the stupid wall, it does nothing. There is a sweet spot with or w/o the wall.

Pray do tell us chox. as nearly every other melee class ever uses the wall to melee over, meleeing in the open is an instagib for us

Why would you ever need to exploit Corsolander??? And yes using the protrusion from the wall to avoid the damage shield is an exploit.

Chox is right, the wall thing is an urban legend. There is a sweet spot behind him, but just off to the left or right of his tail. I usually wind up finding it on the right side, but I'm sure its on both sides. I tried the wall a few times, and I kept getting hit until I moved over into the sweet spot. The only times the wall was keeping me from getting hit, was because it was preventing me from seeing the target.

The reason I don't consider corsolander a standard fight is because I have to find the sweet spot, and sometimes I do have to back off because of taking damage. And Sometimes I can't find the spot, so i just back off to the edge of CA range and use CA/ranged auto-attack.

I also agree with gonzo that using the wall (if it works) sure sounds like one of those geometry exploits we're not supposed to talk about.
