Your autoattack will swing during recovery time and casting time but not during the Combat Art. So speaking if your autoattack goes off right when your CA triggers, you will miss an autoattack. Autoattack can be interrupted by CA's but not the other way around. That's why timing is beneficial and longer delay weapons are alittle more forgiving. It's almost impossible to take full advantage of 1.6 delay weapon when being hasted.

As I understand it, if you have an auto attack due it will queue up and go in immediately following the recovery time not during it but the end effect I guess is the same. It will go off before your next ca even if that ca queued.

Yeah that could be it as well, its kinda hard to track whether the attack occurs during recovery or after wards when our recovery timers are .25. My ACT goes off my internal clock and just isn't that accurate. Yeah either way it is the same effect. I took a good portion of the one and tried to figure out how to understand so I could get the max out of it. This is pretty much what I see.

3 sec delay
0sec - CA
- autoattack
1sec - CA
2sec - CA
3sec - Autoattack

or missed as...

0sec - CA
- autoattack
1sec - CA
2sec - CA
3sec - CA (AA cant take place)
3.25sec - Autoattack (basically after CA ends/recovery)

and so on.

So basically by spamming CA's especially when AA is intended to occur, you end up pushing the AA time down and in the end you get less out of it (less melee swings because of constant delay). And if you spam constantly and happen to do so exactly when you are autoattacking you can miss the AA completely. I ran a 5 sec test at least a 100 times and when I was timing, I got more swings on melee in that time than when spamming. I also lost at least 1 melee swing.

What really hurts is when you time something like Masked Attack when a AA is coming up. Masked Attack, like other Stealth CA's, turn off autoattack in the process. So you do loss an attack or 2.

if your autoattack is due and a CA is being used at that time, it will queue up and hit immediately following that CA during the recovery time. In the long term you do lose swings because each autoattack is pushed back ever so slightly and eventually will add up to missed swings. The only time you lose autoattack compeletely is when you go into stealth by whatever means be it concealment or masked attack or whatever. Concealment mostly because with masked attack, the autoattack will hit immediately after the CA following masked attack.
