Here's a Screenshot of the effectiveness of Planar Orb done in Estate of Unrest by a Swashie. Granted he isnt a top tier player nor does he have UBER equipment but has capped STR, had a dirge, and was using the Orb. I have another from a Fabled out Assassin who also used the same Orb but had even less of a DPS count for this earring so I gave you the better one.

Even if you tripled this number with buffs and whatnot, it still doesn't touch 30 DPS.

the point is the Orb is one of the best earrings available, especially if you dont have access to the really good ones. You wont get any more DPS out of the others. So to answer the OP it is still worth it to have it until you get something better.

Kinda hard to believe you can be capable of sarcasm when you suggest the earring from Acadechism > Planar Orb~.

As for zws. I only raid during weekends so you'll have to sit and wait~.

I really would like to see any parse showing its effectiveness over STR-doesnt matter, Oh Dark linger is shit, etc. counter arguments. Truths can only be told in facts for the sake of debate, I think facts are needed. Honestly with all the flame and internet BS, I hope you all are right. I really do and I am NOT being sarcastic. I got it here sitting and waiting if I can see how to get it to ZW @ 30DPS. Just haven't seen it myself. I am also going to raid tonight and will see if it is in fact better, but past experiences has drawn me to this conclusion, it isnt what some are saying it is.

I don't get to play my assassin alt much on raids, so only had this Clockwork Menace parse, but here:



While my assassin is in kinda crummy gear (mostly KoS fabled and EoF legendary), I feel that it's a great earing compared to alternatives. Granted, I did have templar and dirge buffs in that group so it proc'd more than normal, but after considering proc dmg and the +piercing, it's pretty good if you aren't killing avatars.

So I think what most assassins here are trying to say, don't post misinformation Gonzo when you don't know what you're talking about. Crushbone earing remark, hahaha

This was with a templar and a dirge in group I believe. With just a dirge it's usually about 23-24 dps ZW, depending on other buffs.

Cool. So it is more effective than I thought it was. Tion the reason I asked for ZW is the effectiveness on something isnt truly apparent in one encounter. 32.06 DPS with 100% to hit of course. 28 with it hitting 88% of the time is close to what I got with it ZW, but never came close to 28 DPS. Maybe it is the group I am in when using it, but it has yet to hit any number even close to that. I'll try it tonight and see.
