Good to see there is STR on all but one piece. There is even INT. So that's a job well done. Only comment I have is the lack of skill modifiers on the set. Only +8 pierce.
Then again I haven't seen any weapons or jewerly yet. Hopefully there will be enough pieces around with +pierce.

whats funny about the set gear to me is that they all have higher stats and cool effects, yet the stat caps werent changed (at least not to my knowledge) so all this gear really does is push a person further into diminishing returns. Seems to me that we will basically be the same as in T7 just look prettier. The difference between a lvl 70 vs a lvl 75 mob and a lvl 80 vs a lvl 85 mob is going to be pretty small. Thats what so lame about diminishing returns, it looks cool and has great stats, but its actual benefit isnt a whole lot, unless it has some godly proc.

I could be wrong, but I thought the point at which you start to hit the curve increased with each level. So at 80 you would need more STR to hit the curve than at 70.

That is how works as far as I understand it and Im not an expert on diminishing returns by any means. Basically at 70 the curve started at like 650STR (cant remember what it is exactly), at 80 it will start at 675 or something, but the output as far as say dmg would remain basically the same even though your STR stat increased. Ill try to explain in a bit more detail and someone please tell me if Im talking out of my ass lol.

I know for mitigation its relative to opponent level, which returns a percentage. If you had 50% mitigation at 70 you would need more of the mitigation stat to reach 50% at 80, but the actual benefit of it remains the same, 50% is 50% whether your mit stat is 5000 or 10000.

So if the same logic applies to say STR than you would need more STR to achieve the same output that you had at 70 because actual output is relative to the level of the mobs your facing. So it remains exactly the same even though your STR stat is higher than it was at level 70.

I'm fairly certain thats not how it works at all for strength (or stats in general). I figure it would be you get the full per point benefit of strength up to a higher point before hitting the diminishing returns curve.

Not sure that I worded that well, but whatever lol.

You would get the full benefit up to the curve, but I dont think that versus the lvl 80 mobs you would be more powerful at the curve than you were at the curve at 70 versus lvl 70 mobs.

I think your right in that stats are done differently because its not percentage based like mitigation and I dont think its calculated using the mobs level like mitigation (migation / mob level), but I think the basic theory of the diminishing returns curve is to restrict gains to a certain level. So when the level cap is increased the returns curves adjust up and you basically just start over and have to work back up to where you were on the curve and even though the stats are higher etc etc the actual standing in relation to the mobs you face remains the same.
