Re: t8 Fabled Class Set
Clarification:
Stat caps are = (15xlevel)+20, 1070 at 70 and 1220 at 80.
The diminishing returns curve actually begins at approximately 40% of the cap (450-ish) but isn't really noticeable until 50-60%. (60% => 650 ish)
That makes the target point in RoK 730-ish.
In EoF we got 155 STR, 23% of the standard unbuffed target
In RoK we get 258 STR, 35% of the new unbuffed target.
However. 650 is only quoted as our target because, after that point, you are better off getting INT. We are never really in danger of nudging diminishing returns in INT, so when our raid buffed STR hits 850+ we could gain more from a point of INT than we could a point of STR.
Thats all. If we can have more of both that ONLY helps us.
Skills also do no have their damage reduced as you go up in levels. Add some STR and your skills will ALWAYS do more dmg. If I go from 70-80 without changing my gear or stats I will get exactly the same dmg numbers on my skills.
However, proportionally my dmg would change, as in I would do less % dmg against a lvl 80 mob than a lvl 70 mob, assuming identical stats. This, however is simply a function of the mobs HP, not the actual dmg done.
So, more of a stat = good. Always. Unless you hit 1220.

Re: t8 Fabled Class Set
I think we basically are saying the same thing, it might just not be as clear the way I was saying it. My point was that at 80 even though we have this better gear and stuff we are intrinsically no different than when we were 70. Like a top geared assassin at 80 probably wont be parsing any higher than he was at 70 as far as DPS goes, maybe slightly, but you wont see the average parse for most poeple just suddenly jump from 2k to 2500 just cause we gained levels. Thats basically what I was getting at.

Oh you'll definitely notice a boost, probably not 2k. But it's there, and it's beautiful. WIS line, Fatal Followup, and the new effects on gear play a huge role in this.

Group setup and gear being equal, we're in the top 2, if not #1, easily.

Yeah, itll be interesting to see how high we can go in RoK. If you had similar variables at 80 as at 70 things should remain pretty much the same, but with the new AAs, effects on gear, and new ability it will probably push it beyond. The problem with the returns though is that eventually you cant push it any further and as long as its in place if they raise the caps you will basically just being starting over on the curve and working your way back up and maybe adding just a little bit each time. If I parse 3k in EoF and 3200 in RoK how big of a deal is that really? To me it doesnt really seem like all that big of a gain, maybe Im just ungrateful :P

Yeap, plus the fact that other classes getting better debuffs (Dispatched for example) also help to shoot our dps higher.

Thats what I like about RoK, and it's one thing they finally did right. Instead of just stacking STR INT AGI that are effected by the curve, you see alot of +double attack +crit +dps +CA damage +attack speed etc. Infact, there a 4.0 delay dagger that comes with +7 crit +7 double attack. Save your DKP now.

You'll be doing around 4k+ ZW in RoK. Probly even higher, since even though they gave us Fabled Armor, our weapons and jewelry were only legendary.
We're not by any means "overpowered", since we're not miles above the rest in terms of DPS. But like I said before, definitely top 2, if not #1, especially with all the single target mobs. In fact if you notice, theres alot more guild recruiting Assassins this time around.
Just remember this:
WIS line is your friend. Don't talk about Fatal Followup. Rangers got shafted.
