I'm going to start this thread off by listing the ideal setup from my perspective. I would like feedback on what might be changed out.

Helm:

Listed above is my current gear and what I would be keen on picking up. Feel free to post what you currently have and would like to pick up so in part we can get a general idea of what would be the best gear setup. I understand not everyone has or is eligible for Avatar loot.

onlything i switch is neck between thuuga and bloodthirsty choker
not sure about the protectors hat or reet hat though, guess its not too big parse difference hehe

Reet hat is still great if 2 things A) you in a group with proc modifiers b) you aren't above 500+ ca

So you take skittering over trooper scale? cause you got tunarian ring right??

I've been wondering about the boots myself. Last night skittering dropped, and the 2 scouts who bid it up the most both had trooper scale. Hell, if i'd had TS, I woulda gone afk as soon as i saw the chest. I figured I must be missing something. They seem like pretty much a wash to me, but I give the edge to TS. When would skittering be better?

Currently my gear is this:

Helm
I have both Coif of the Reet Knight and Manipulator's Hood...although I haven't decided which I want to use yet.

Cloak
Currently I'm using the mastercrafted attack speed cloak....and at this point I'm pretty open to any cloaks (Mistmoore's Cloak, Cloak of Woven Leaves, or Cape of Kor'Sha)

Chest
I've got the Gi of the Jarsath Swiftail and I'm not really familiar with tooooo many other chest pieces, plus the melee crit is real nice

Shoulders
Currently rocking the mastercrafted, really would love Field Commander's Mantle though.

Leggings
I'm using the legendary set pants (impetuous strikes) for the melee crit on them. If I saw the Lyrist pants drop I'd snag those, but otherwise I'm holding out for VP set.

Forearm
Again, mastercrafted....and no idea what I'd want. Haven't really looked much into it yet.

Boots
Skittering whispers all the way

Necklace
I'm using Ganak's Torque for the melee crit. I took the Thuuga ring because I already had this neck item at the time I did the quest.

Earrings
Droag Talon Plugs and Earring of the Wastes Hunter...again for the melee crit. Really probably the only earring I'd replace this with would be the jewelry set from TNT.

Rings
I switch these up sometimes. I've got the Band of Thuuga, Reet Eye Ring, and the mastercrafted Agility ring. Sometimes I use the haste ring, sometimes I use the Reet Eye but I'm always wearing the Thuuga ring.

Wrists
I'm using Treasureseekers Band and the Tynnonium Shackle....I'm sure there's better out there, but I haven't looked too much yet.

Ranged
I've got the Bow of Rapid Trepedation....I think it dropped in CoA....I'd GLADLY give this up for a Rigid Scale or Vol'Drath

Charms
Scale of the Leviathan and the Gorowynian Rune of Intent. I'd pass the Scale for something better

Weapons
Right now I've got Anaphylaxis and the Soulfire Sabre.....I'd really love a Throatripper and a Worm Toothed Blade (neither have dropped for us though)

Skittering are better than Trooper Scale because most of our damage will come from our CA's. Melee Crit effects our CA's, double attack does not. While Trooper Scale are decent if you can't get something better, Skittering win because the melee crit effects BOTH auto attack and CA damage.

Because DA blows total ass... the only time its worth a fuck is:

A) If you can't get crit/ca in that slot

or

B) If its in the form of buffs

Our auto attack is nowhere near enough of our zw to care about anything other than crit/ca dmg.

That said my ideal setup would prob be:

Ears: Waste Hunter/Droag Talon/Queen's Tear
Rings: Reet Eye/Disarming Band/Dark Intent/Tunarian Might

Does DA blow TOTAL ass? As in 4 MC is really better than 10DA? I agree 100% if we were comparing 4 MC to 4 DA. But auto attack damage is still somewhere around 30% of our zonewide, so DA has some value. Is it not possible to keep the trooper scale proc up for 95% of the fight with 125+ haste? If the proc can only be kept up 50% of the time, then we're talking about 4MC vs 5DA, and then yeah, that would be a no-brainer.

Even if you get 100% DA with max haste you won't get your auto attack to be even 50% of your zw, and that is why it fails.
