Is losing the +2 melee crit worth the amount of CA damage on the energised protector's shackle?

The differences:
1 DA + 2 MC + 10 CA damage > 65 CA damage imo.

Would probably use the sarnak utility belt unless I needed the resists on the shackle, though the extra hp and power on shackle is enticing.

Thanks for the breakdown Soulforged. I read on the forum that 1% Melee Crit = roughly 30 CA damage, would you agree with that?

Let's say you do 4000 average dps no crits no da.

4000 * .3 (Inc. in damage on CA's) * .02 (Chance to crit) = 24 dps for CA's
4000 * .7 (Inc. in damage on Auto) * .02 (Chance to crit) = 56 dps for autoattack

Average Inc for 2% dps is 32

That's largely in favor of crits. It's less of a percent inc. for auto attack just to lazy to look it up and I'm assuming 25% of your damage comes from autoattack which it doesn't.

Now let's look at + CA. You attack every roughly .62 seconds with RS and poise. So 65/.62 = 104.84 dps assuming 25% of your dps is auto attack that's still 78.63 dps

Anyway, for the crits:
Assuming the 4k dps:
4000 X .02 = 80 dps.
Why are you multiplying by x3 and x7 again? crit affects auto attack and CA's.

As well, there is no single multiplier to determine how much extra a crit will give.

this is why .. crits don't work that way 1 point of crit = .3% increase on CA's while they avg to about .7% increase on auto attack

thing is that for this to be true you have to calculate what your PRE crit dps is (cause your dps you already getting from crits is NOT affected)

If its 1k of auto attack +3k of CA' and we assume you are currently at lets say 50% crits with that dps

50*.7=35% off auto atack and 50*.3 = 15%

so 1k-35%= 750 pre crit dps
and 3k- 15% = 2550 pre crit dps

Actually messed up hehe its 650 pre crit dps on auto atack More on this now that i have time... so now for our calcs on how much 2% crit will boost your dps

650+ (0.7*2)% = 659.1... net gain of 9.1 dps on Auto attack
2550 + (0.3*2)%=2565.3 net gain of 15.3 dps on CA's for a total of 24.4 dps or 12.2 dps per point of crit

Yes shackle wins hands down ... but the higher your +CA is less and less CA's (particularly the fast refresh ones which benefit the most from it ) take advantage of it...

It looses its edge at around i would say +500 ca?? (which ain't so hard to hit.. I'm at 345 atm and i don't have the +90 wrist or any adornments with + ca... so thats a total of 210+ ca i could easy have... add reet proc and i would be at 345+210+150+120 from bruiser= 825 + CA.. if i take off energized shackle.. and substitute for the sarnak(loss of 55+ca) i could be at 770+ca...620 without reet proc... which is still above of my minimum target)

Based on calcs I've done, I figure 1% MC ~ 15 CA ~ 2.5 DA.

So the sarnak belt (1 DA + 2 MC + 10 CA) is roughly equal to 46 CA.
