Default crit vs. ca dmg

melee crit has always been an assassins best friend but choosing btw rok stuff that has either crit or ca can be hard imo.

most asses i've talked to tho claim that an increase in ca dmg is better since we're the class that deals most ca dmg by far. this i think everyone know, however, crit affects ca dmg.. so i'm not so sure. which is better?

i've been laying steadily around 50 crit chance since gearing up after rok came out, my question is, is it worth losing som crit over ca?
any other thoughts/suggestions on this? like crit ratio on ca dmg and how much more dmg that would actually deal?

thanks

Obv. they're both very important - I tend to think MC is the most critical of the two since it does effect everthing. You can definitely get to a point where your lack of CA damage will hurt you in the big picture though (If you're at 60 MC and 50 CA or something).

MC seems to be more plentiful in RoK w/ the Epic/Mythical having copious amounts static and procing, and in a raid buffed situation you'll have even more.

So it really depends on how you are geared. There's a T8 Gear thread that lists the best stuff for each slot and some of it is easy to get.

Top end gear should balance out crit and CA no problem.

Just saying

What Faabio said is dead on. However if you want a point blank answer, when given the choice between CA and Crit on a piece of gear take the CA. Good CA gear is much more rare then good crit gear. Though CA may not be as important as Crit the lack of it makes it more valuable.

It is very easy to get to 90% or even 100% MC in a raid setting, when you take into account buffs (Mythical proc is 15% for example and is almost always up). Very little buff's CA DMG.

Getting to 100% MC and 65-70% DA is very easy. Now if you can do th at and get up to 500-600 CA dmg, well then you are really going to put up some numbers.

Basically... look at the gear thread. Get those items for your gear slots. End of story.

Ya I hardly ever post on this section ` BUT I cant sleep.

If MC is at 50percent and CA is at zero your looking at "roughly based on your particular playstyle and skill"

a 1mc = 28CA

So if you have an item that will add say 45CA at the cost of 1 MC you take it. That equation will hold true up to about 250CA at which point you start capping out CA on your weakest DoTs.

Then the curve goes down 1mc = 25ca / 1mc = 20ca and so on and so forth.

Excepting that he's moving the CA numbers the wrong direction, what Chapel said is correct :P

The higher your CA goes, the higher the +CA needs to be per point of MC you lose.
