Default Battleaxe Vs. Lifespike

\aITEM 566560114 1842422081:Battleaxe of Venom\/a
\aITEM 1602165095 -952995788:Lifespike, Stiletto of Ruin\/a

What I can tell just by looking.

Axe has more HP, LS has more power
Axe has crits, LS has dbl attk
Axe Proc hits harder, LS heals raid
LS lowend is higher
Axe is slashing, LS is piercing
Axe is lvl 79, LS is lvl 80

Discus

Default Re: Battleaxe Vs. Lifespike

I have em both Lifespike owns it by far

the dmg proc does for me about 100 to 140 dps zw

the heal proc is very nice on AE fights and I care less about hps and power on weapons tbh even stats in general dont bother me unless its crits double attack , my record on the heal parse is 150k healed on Druushk as im the only onein the raid with the lifespike i have no clue if the effect stacks or not , if so great offhand not only situational

im at around 80% static crits with a pot without the axe
the proc from the axe overwrites itself and didnt nearly do the dps from the lifespike proc
the min max dmg is imo better , the 4 dbl attack are obviously better for me

and no the axe proc doesnt hit harder , piercing slashing doesnt make any difference at all

The Heal proc is pretty fucking good on any fight, if you have a raid full of chokers.

If you had both of these and only a fabled epic weapon, would you shove the epic in a bag and use these 2?

I dunno about that, the proc from the epic is nice.
Best to get them both, wait for the axe to proc its dot then swap back to LS.

If I had to choose one, I'd choose LS because of the overall benefits to the raid. (DA sucks)

DPS wise, the Axe will be better for almost anyone, really. That is, of course, short of top-end players.

Really, though, Lifespike is a better choice. The only *real* issue I had with Lifespike was that the heal generates a shitload more aggro than the damage proc would from the axe.

If you have aggro trouble already, Lifespike is a bad choice -- I'd pull aggro in the MT group before the buff-stacked assassin who was parsing above me would, just about every fight.

Lifespike FTW!

What I seen on parses is the Battleaxe of Venom's proc is bouncy. Often times it will overwrite itself while Lifespike's proc is one big hit so no overwrite. So some fights the axe owns Lifespike and sometimes it eats its dust. The heal is pretty sweet too. Maxing Melee Crit is too easy (at almost 90% in raids) so getting alittle Double Attack (even ranged which is hard to get) is nice.

Overall, I >>LIKE<< Lifespike more but they both are pretty good.
