My thinking right now is that INT and spell crit affect poison damage. Is this right, or am i way off?

The higher the INT you have, the more damage your poison (and most procs) will do.

Poison crit on Spell Crit.

You are correct and is why you'll want the predator INT line - for spell/poison crits aka 'Toxic Expertise'.
