Default Maximizing DPS in a less than optimal group

I was raiding PR and got stuck in a not so great group for my DPS. Does anyone have tips on what I can do to maximize my DPS in this group? I'm typically #1 on zonewide parse and this time I was #4.

Group setup was:
Assassin
Coercer
Necromancer
Warden
Monk
<6th spot empty>

I typically am self-buffed around 800 str (without potion), 55% MC, 450 CA and am used to being over 1k str raid buffed in MT group with dirge and shaman.

Already saw the optimal group setup thread, this is kind of the opposite. Making do with what you got.

Yeah that grp is definatly sub-par as far as what you want to see as an assasin. The boo factor comes from DPS buffs (which is not really what we are lacking as assasins) Come to think of it... i dont know if you could have had a worse looking grp set-up ..lol..

As far as tips... i think 4th zonewide aint bad with that grp make-up. i mean you could have prolly come close to 4th ZW if you was all alone in your grp

When I'm in a group like that, I swap some pieces for more str. Last time i was in one, i still managed to top the ZW, but that doesn't mean anything because no one had really good groups that night. Ours was a problem of not having the classes. If yours was a problem of being an extra assassin stuck in a troublemaker group, 4th sounds pretty good.

Oh, one more tip is look to see if any other groups only have 5 and see about getting moved into one of them. Caster group FTW!

being that i mostly do pick up raids i get the shit group alot, but still manage to be top parse usually only behind *stacked* wiz/swash/assin. unless you dieing your dps should always be pretty good.

I guess it all depends on what you consider good. #4 behind a wiz, swash, and another assassin doesn't sound good to me. #1 or try harder. In that shitty PR group, i still topped the parse on 1 of the first 4 named and that was over a brigand with a mythical in the OT group and a swash in the MT group (both had coercers and dirges).....but I like to be #1 zw.

I got my MT group back though. Yay! #1 zw (3k) in Kor-Sha minus OK. We're still working on him. Followed up by a necro with master mage pet and a trouby at 2.8k.

If 4k is in the top 10 theres something wrong with your raid.

I have macro's setup to quickly swap gear around. Here are my different gear sets that I have macro'd:

1) Heat Resists (for Druushk)
2) Magic Resists (for Nexona)
3) DPS (with Illusionist)
4) DPS (w/o Illusionist)
5) Disease/Poison Resists (for Trakanon)
6) Ranged (for all those gay VP fights)

Now, what's the difference between my 2 DPS setups?

DPS with Illusionist means that I have plenty of haste and double attack. It means I am then maximizing my melee crit and melee mod at the expense of any haste or DA items I'm wearing.

DPS w/o Illusionist means that I need more haste. Means I am sacrificing a little of everything to get my haste and DA up.

Overall, the biggest problem I see in your setup is melee crit. Self buffed to 55% is too low for an Assassin. I wouldn't care about any other stat until you can get yourself to 85% melee crit self buffed (and thus your mythical weapon will take you the other 15% up to 100%). Once you get there, then start thinking about raising melee mod or double attack.

Also, the only class you should ever lose #1 zonewide dps in any zone to is another assassin. If you lose the #1 zonewide spot to any other class, then you suck, and you should be concerned that your guild is secretly trying to replace you.
