Some of this info will, of course, be things we all know. Well, those of us with brains anyway.
The way tooltips currently work, there's no accurate way to check several CA's to see if you're actually capping them for CA mod or not, because the tooltips are broken and display random numbers for damage, if you have any CA mod whatsoever - and they allow for more +CA mod to work than it would seem they should. Hell if I know why, but I will be sending Aeralik a PM in a minute to ask about it. Those are:
Gushing Wound
Scarring Blow
Deadly Impale
Deadly Blast
Bladed Opening
The main issue I noticed while testing CA mod to check my caps for specific CA's, however, is that it doesn't work for certain CA's properly, according to the tool-tips.
Death Blow, as we all know, has two damage possibilities- One for over 20%, one for under 20%. The under 20%, according to it's tooltip, does NOT gain from CA mod. Bladed Opening, as well, has two damage possibilities- Over 80%, and under. The over 80% damage gets no benefit from CA mod.
I only post this here out of curiousity if anyone has noticed and asked Aeralik(Or another dev) about these issues- and what response they got. I know the first is mentioned elsewhere around here, but the second I haven't ever heard of anyone mentioning previously.(Nor did I find anything looking for it)
