Default Re: Macros

I use the following macros:

frontload > exacting (for before I spam CA's and chains)
Deadly focus > Honed Reflexes (for after I've spammed CA's and a chain and most everything is down)
Mesh/Lucky Break/Squeeze

Plus I have a few pieces of gear that I've hotbarred to swap in/out easily (like choker) or to swap in my cursed coif for that clicky buff when it is up.

I don't like putting mark on a macro, especially when it's not the first ability in the macro. I want to see exactly when it is up so I can hit it immediately. I also don't like using the masked/pinpoint macro that a lot of people use, because I try not to use masked to enter my conceal chain. I try to use disfiguring or maybe scarring blow, because I like to have mask available to quickly re-enter stealth should something break my conceal chain, like a miss or a block. A number of mobs (particularly the naga in TOMC) are blocking/deflecting/aoeing a lot in this expac, making conceal chains hard sometimes. Having masked and spy both available during a chain helps a lot.

If something breaks your concealment chain, why not just use disfiguring strike or Scarring blow to get back into stealth since concealment is running at the time anyway? that way you can always keep masked strike and pinpoint blade on the same timer too.

Because concealment only lasts 7 seconds, but you can take up to 10 seconds for a FFU chain. If you are having problems, you might need those last 3 seconds.

Well, that's why Poise and Repeated Stabbing exists...

Anyways... Macros are for wusses.

Real men spam their CAs properly in the right order, like all assassins should.
Or go play a healer cycling through 4 spells...

2 more macros you need. Macro concealment with a command saying "Imma Chargin Mah FFU". Then macro FFU with text saying "Imma firin mah FFU"

Because of what Hoss said: concealment is 7secs and FF takes the previous 10 secs into account. You would be correct if the chain broke in the first 7 seconds, but after that, i need something else to enter stealth.

And yes I have poise and repeated stabbing. It's because I have those that I have a chance to hit masked/spy and continue the chain without much loss, if any, to my FFU.

Using masked/spy to get myself back into stealth to hit my 2 aoe stealth attacks is important considering their modifiers on FFU (2.0 for slate, 1.5 for stealth assault). And yes, I put those two at the end of my chain, closest to my FFU, in order to assure that they are included in that FFU. I know some people put them in their chains early on in order to assure that they "get them off" should their chain get borked. I disagree with that.

Personally, I put the least damaging attacks in early, so if my chain takes longer than expected (e.g. 10+ seconds) and the early stealth attacks start to not be accounted for, I want them to be those little back stabs, not the ones with the big modifiers or damage ranges. If the chain gets completely borked, I will just hit FF when conceal has expired and I have no masked/spy, and just try again next time.

All that said, my masked and pinpoint are almost always up together regardless of having a macro to combine them. Pinpoint is usually refreshing right around the time I'm finished with FFU, and if I didn't need masked during the chain (I usually don't), then they are both ready to be used and will be on the same timer. If I did use it, then it's usually just a few seconds for it to refresh, and there are always some other CAs I can use until it is up. And on trash that aren't stunning/stifling/KBing or breaking my chains in some fashion(like SoH or PoA trash) my spy and stealth assault end up being on the same timer too so that I can hit an extra stealth assault about halfway through my conceal/FFU refresh.

I used to have all my CA's on seperate buttons with no macros.

Then I started to hotbar a ton of things I may need in a raid (pots, gear, power stuff, signets, clicky items, /thumbsup macros, my go-to cybering lines) and I ran out of bars and buttons. I had to start combining.

Maybe I should be like Benji and just combine everything into only 4 buttons of mega-macros. I would have so much more room for emotes!

I've actually just got a 5th button for my emotes and cyber-lines. Chicks dig it.

Default Re: Macros

I made some changes can you tell me what you think of this casting order...

Hoss's Opener macro [Lucky break, Poison Combo, Mesh, Squeeze - I added PC] >> Scarring Blow, Deadly Impale, Gushing Wound >> Bounty, Death Mark >> Velium Strike, Resourceful Weapon, Bladed Opening >> Disfiguring Strike, Concealment >> Mortal Blade, Jugular Slice, Pinpoint Blade, FFU >> Masked Strike, Moon Blade, Death Blow

Let me know your thoughts...
