I just recently hit 80 so I started collecting shards. I wanted to get an idea of what the best gear is for the t1 shard stuff...

SO far I am thinking:

Mauraders Pants
Mauraders Chest
Mauraders Hat
Wasted Wilderness Shoulders
Wasted Wilderness Gloves
Wasted Wilderness Feet

Does that seem to be the best combo for the T1 stuff? Or is there a better setup you could recommend?

Good question, I was about to start researching this same thing myself. And is shard armor the stuff a new level 80 assassin should be looking at/for? Been pondering how I should start to go about catching up in the gear department to start contributing to the raidforce.

Depends.... If you have no intention on raiding then id say if you want to increase your dps you defenitly need 3 pieces of soul lancer because of the extra 4% base dmg to ca it gives you along with the 8% from the arms. (this is if you have no intention of raiding) Most assassin Vp geared or higher will only be exchanging the arms and MAYBE boots assuming they do not have the TSO boots yet.

yea cos VP hands,feet and shoulders are awsome!

every assassin that is not worried about death should be wearing soul lancer feet,shoulders and hands for the 12% base spell/ca boost.

if you don't raid the other 3 should be mauraders or any other instance gear you might find that has more MC.

I do intend on raiding (but not till i get my gear worked out). My basic desire up until now was just lvl as fast as I could ;). I havent done many instances yet. So gear is pretty crapy atm. also all my spells are ad3s. no dropped/purchased masters.

That being said, what then would the recommendation be for shard gear?

Why the wasted wilderness 3 piece set? i haven't looked at them too much. I seem to remember the shoulders being the best, but I thought the set bonuses sucked.

I have the soul lancers shoulders/gloves/feet and ravagers BP. I still haven't decided if I want to get any more ravagers pieces, or just start saving shards for a mount or some charms. I have ROK raid gear, but no VP gear, so I will probably at least play around with the ravager set bonus.

Oh I just realized you said T1 shard gear. Don't even look at the T1 gear if you want to raid. Figure out what T2 gear you need and get the T1 stuff thats required for it.

I have Soul Lancers boots, arms and gloves. Mauraders Legs, chest and coif.

My plan is get those in T2 then go the other other jeweley set which has melee crit on it(forget the name). Then probs the charm last.

If you don't raid 3 pieces of soul lancer is MUST because of the 3 piece set bonus. After than it just comes down to weather or not you want double atk or meele crit. I also didnt realize you said T1.. but obviously you need to get the T1 that is needed to make the Soul lancer for the 3 pieces you want. Goodluck!
