As for how good the choker is, its not hard to figure out. If you're like me, 30% of your dmg comes from Auto Attack, 40% comes from CAs, and the last 30% comes from spell based stuff, like poisons and procs. So the choker adds 10% to 70% of your total damage, or it adds 7% to your total damage. Take your last parse and multiply by 1.07 to see what you would have done with a choker. If you're throwing down 10k parses, you could add another 700 dps. That may not seem like much (especially if you're only putting up 3-5k dps) but I gaurantee you its a much bigger gain than you get from the MC on ganaks torque. Its probably worth at least 20 MC

I've been seeing BTCs auctioned for about 100p lately, and IMO, thats a steal. I think the only reason they're so cheap is that the people who know how good they are have already farmed for theirs.

choker is amazing but you cant say its greater than all. depending on what you can kill there are 2 necks off the top of my head i know are better

It's a close contest between the Anashti Sul item and the "Choker", however most people will go for the Anashti Sul one because it has the crit and no damage penalty.
On the other hand it does not have any Base Spell Damage increase which with the ever increasing number of procs, makes it a close match when comparing each others pure DPS output.

Though, the Necklace of the Plague wins.

Necklace of the plague is obviously better, it's the natural upgrade to the choker after all. However, the necklace from Anasthi Sul is not better than the choker by any means. +2% to base CA over the choker doesn't make up for the loss of 10% base dmg on procs which is 20% of your overall dps (depending on how many procs you have, could be slightly higher / lower).

Some could argue that the +7 to melee crit makes it appealing but if you are in a guild that can kill Anashti Sul then you probably are over the cap on melee crits anyways, making the point void.

The damage can't be an issue since, again, if your guild can make it to Anashti Sul then your healers should be more than capable of keeping people wearing chokers up.

Unless you have access to Avatar loot, the choker remains as the best neck piece you'll be able to get.
