Re: Ranger
Well, I have been playing an assassin since launch...both through the good, and the mediocre times. And while I'm not sure this thread is terribly constructive, it does raid some interesting arguments that I myself have been struggling with.
First, I'll say that while Palace trash is not a named fight, it is still significant in terms of seeing what the class can parse. Its used...and rightly so...as a good dps baseline. It creates a fair, consistant environment to compare parses. So in that respect, it's VERY significant.
Both assassins and rangers have a lot more balance in this expansion vs previous ones. But much to my chagrin, what I am personally noticing is that rangers (as well as caster dps) have the distinct edge on parsing due to the nature of the encounters. Whether its Xebnok, or the other joust encounters...I'm seeing rangers and utility casters ...conj, coercer, etc....fare better on the parse because they dont have to joust thus not losing any time on the mob.
So I personally am curious if assassins as tier 1 dps are more or less obsolete in this expansion of top end raid encounters.
(And for the record, I think there are more significant encounters in this expansion than avatars)
