Just looking for some input on a better off hand for a non raiding assassin.

Cutter has +5 double, shortsword has +int +2 crit and about the same stats and damage. Will there be a big difference in DPS Between the two? I do not believe so, just looking for some opinions.

I would suggest doing the TsO sig line and picking up the offhand... just saying its gonna be better then either of those if u dont do pick upraids, or raid.

Looking over the assassin loot section, i see Lifespike listed. Would that be a better choice over Throatripper? If so, why?

Yes. Better damage spread and better proc.

the intial dmg spread seems better but wouldn't the +7 to piercing and the higher str bonus on TR give it a higher overall dmg rating in the hands of the user?

If you're decked out in T2 shard armor, you're already at something like 1100 str, and most likely capped on piercing (if you're not, spam the HO), even if you don't raid. So no, I honestly don't think those are worthy of consideration.

If it's between the Carotidcutter and the Void-Touched just get a Seb Croaking Dirk for the +10% poisons and its decent stats. Even better if you have Poison Mastery shadows AA already.
