Hey all, i have been reading up on these forums for sometime, i have just levelled my assassin up to 80 (my main is a fury :S) and have been a touch confused about the shard armor choices. The OBVIOUS choice seemed to be Marauders onto Ravagers but the loot threads seem to suggest Sacred Spirit onto Soul Lancers is better. Obviously i can see that the set bonus from Soul Lancers will add with the Spaulders to make 12% base CA damage increase - but is this really worth sacrificing the stats of Ravagers? Any advice here would be greatly appreciated

Just as a sidequestion - but which soullancer pieces you would wear(to get that +4% CA and spell damage increase), if you using gloves,boots and forearms of fabled TSO set?
Whats your opinioin?

Depends on what you are using for pants/helm/breastplate. For instance, if you're still in firefury pants, and ravager's helmet ... then replace those pieces. With my current gear, if I were to get the fabled gloves and boots, I might give up the soul lancer set bonus. But I'd have to look closer at the fabled gloves and boots to be sure.

IIRC, the main reason Soul Lancer > Ravagers is because the 12% bonus is for BOTH CA and Spells (our poisons and death mark are considered spells) while Ravagers is only 12% to CA. Since your poison and mark damage is a good chunk of your dps, it only makes sense to get a set bonus that adds to it.

Most people I've seen have gone the arms + boots + gloves route for the 3 set. But it's really determined by how good the pieces are that you would be replacing.

Still can't look at all the gear. But if you have to give up more than about 10 crit to get the bonus, then don't do it. Instead trade the soul lancers shoulders in for wilderness warriors shoulders and keep the rest of your sweet gear.

Wait, unless you're over cap on crit and can afford to give some up. That would be a completely different story.
