Hate Transfer and Allay

Because I was the only hate transfer class available in a PR Plat run last night, I got put into the MT group - First Time Ever. I'm curious on how my Hate Transfer is affected by the Guardian's Moderate (Allay) Hate Reduction. If I am put in the MT group again, should I cancel Moderate if it gets put on me? Seems as though if the Guard lost aggro, I wasn't doing enough to get it back to him.

Rest of group was Templar, Warden, Defiler, Illusionist.

Guard isn't gonna have a good chance of keeping agro without a dirge, and even a coercer, which probly explains the agro issue.

I don't know one named allay, do you mean moderate? The one that gives you a -35% hate mod, right? If so, then it will mean you xfer less hate. But, a lot of us need that reduction even in MT group to keep from ganking aggro ourselves.

Yeah, Allay = Moderate. Moderate is the Lvl 63 version, Allay is lvl 21.

I hate being in MT group. Better off in the OT group to help give him aggro if we -absolutely- MUST be used as utility like that but...beggars can't be choosers, especially in a plat raid.

Ehh, if he's hurting for aggro, I'd say take off Moderate. If not, keep both. I think high parsing Assassins would ideally want both, just to cover their own hides. TBH, I don't cut tanks slack-- if he's loosing aggro, he sucks. Unless if it's to a specific person-- over and over, and that person just can't learn how to deal with it.

I wish i could xfer hate and be in the mt grp all the time...sadly im only an intercede at best.

During RoK (as a Guard) I've spent some time grouping with a serious swashy, usually killing late-night Doms or the occasional instance. From this I have to assume my moderate was applied after his transfer.

This was based on my hate gained via his Hurricane. Add's that had no business sticking to me usually did because he was moderated. More importantly other AE classes didnt pull those add's either.

Had I not been getting a full feed from hurricane, I woulda lost adds to other AE players that didnt have a dehate available. They could still parse without stripping adds. I was spec'd for single target avoidance tanking, zero AE hate spec.

I never tried to prove moderate happened before or after a transfer, but to me, it always felt like after.

Never played a swash, but its my understanding that they have multiple tools for generating hate that may have been a factor too and would not show up on a parse. But yeah, im not sure how to quantitatively test this.
