Icon14 Staying in on AEs?

Just thinking, so don't flame too hard, but before I had to main my paly I remember getting face raped pretty hard by a lot of the TSO mobs' physical ae's. Now, I was only at about 50% crit mit back then, but I was thinking if we spec'd Strengthened Links from the TSO tree, and Deft Defense from EoF (or not), we could probably hop into defensive on the joust call and stay in pretty well, without losing much offensively.

And it'd really only be at the cost of a few points out of the Bleeding line and maybe a few away from Cut Arteries, both of which seem pretty negligable anyway.

Anyone tried it on avatar ae's for example? What do you think?

bad idea either you can stay in or you can't being in defensive or not won't help. btw the last time i tried gateway it sucked, i been thinking about giving it another shot but haven't had the chance to respec and play with it since the guild im currently in is fighting thru content and needs 100% out of me.

learn to work with your healers. cleric ae block and repent rotation are pretty awesome.

we run an assassin in MT group, and she stays in for most things, occasaionally have her out if i mis-time something and run risk of her dying... since she's across the living room we can communicate without cluttering vent.

another options is if you use vent, make a bind for your healer and ask them, have them make one for you

So what would you say on that bind with your healer? OMG heal me bitch!?

Can't she see when you need healing without you telling her?

I think he means a tell saying, AE IMMUNE ME! or REPENT ME! or something like that, you know to stop him getting one shotted.

Healers can see when you need healed, but can't heal you if you are dead on the floor!

a tell works too, however, i like being able to call out across the room that she can stay in or if she needs to joust cause i don't have anything up for her at that moment.

a vent bind would work the same way. the person in would be able to ask if they needed to joust when joust was called, and or the templar can tell the person to stay in.

the vent bind might be a little overkill, but its nice to be able to co-ordinate shit without people cluttering up vent.
