Hi,

I'm venturing in the realms of careless assessination, and while you have some nice threads about final AA setups for raiding and so, I have not been able to find any advice about a good AA order while leveling, doing mostly solo content.

Right now I have finished the STR line, but I'm fairly new to assassins and I'm completely baffled about my best chance for the next line, either other KoS line, or... even worse, the EoF ones that completely confuse me.

Would you please direct me to an existing thread with this information, or give me some advice here for the best course to take? Note that this is just purely for going 1 to 80. I'm quite sure that at 80 I will completely overhaul every AA with respecs.

As an assassin, there's not much of a solo spec. We still depend on doing lotsa damage fast, so most of the suggestions for a DPS spec will hold for soloing too. Some changes you might want to make would be to put points in stamina instead of int. Get point blank shot in the agi line ASAP.

In the EOF tree, go ahead and put 5 points in the stun and the upgrade to freezing strike (most of us only put enough to get to the next level since epics are immune to those). I would only get 2 endline abilities in this tree, bleeding and frontload. Bleeding should be the last one you spend points on though. Put points into all of your temporary buffs, but don't bother taking the end ability there, it'll be even more useless solo. Poisons are the first thing I would do in EOF. Skip Ignorant bliss and apply toxins, but max out the rest. If you need more points to get frontload, put them into apply toxins just in case you find yourself duoing once in a while.

In the shadow tree. Well, I don't know, I haven't looked at that one yet with an eye towards soloing. All I can say is don't waste a point on evasive manuvers. There are some nice defensive abilities in there though.

Solmors

IMO assassin is the most difficult class to solo in the game. Easiest way to level to 80 is betray to ranger, get to 80, then betray back to assassin. Ranger with App1s solos better than an assassin with ad3s.

However if you dont want to double betray, or want to learn the class better. Do what Hoss said, and at level 52 start running vitality breech potions.

For soloing, its only use is that it does damage. I never use it while soloing except on accident. Thats why i said don't waste points on it if you are truly only soloing.

yeah but with your lack of frontal attacks, it's handy to have for the extra damage CA/Spell while the others are reloading. I find I have a few 3-5 second periods while im waiting for something to come up to use, so presumably that would be useful to have for that 3-5 second period?

I don't know... You have to put 10 AA in that line neways to get to the next one and then it's only 1 point that you would otherwise presumably have in increasing another CA's reuse slightly or dmg or something, I would have thought it's a useful thing to have for soloing at least, not so much raiding as if you are having to drop a position on the hate list, you will presumably easily climb back up there anyways and have to stop dps or something?

You got it bass ackwards. Its a must for raiding or grouping. Don't be stupid, if you stopped doing things because it makes you climb the hate list you'd just be another pouncer. Better to have as many tools as possible to drop aggro instead.

huh? so why is it no use for soloing again?

And I would use other things like the dehate pots etc if needed before relying on that...

I just don't get why it's no good for soloing...

yeah i saw that, but i don't have great gear or whatever you guys have that means I still have that 4s period of nothing being up.

I can't get many back attacks in either.
