From what I understand, poison shouldn't be critting anymore, hence the change to the int line AA, but looking at ACT parses in the parse thread and my own, there still seems to be some criting although at a very reduced percentage. Does anyone know if this is due to:

1) Poison still crits, but we have low spell crit% now
2) Poison doesn't crit, but the proc damage from frontload still does and counts as caustic is ACT?
3) Something else?

At the risk of eliminating 99% of the responses to this post, please don't post your guess, just reply if you know the answer.

There is/was a bug where poisons will crit after you have zoned.

So if you have a poison on with 50 triggers it will crit for those 50 triggers (based on spell crit) then when another is consumed it won't crit anymore.

i'm pretty sure poisen can still crit just like other profesional procs like PoM and that inquis proc and all ther other procs actual classes give. ofcourse it's a very low chance since preds lost all that spell crit so i can see why people might think it's a bug.

I think people think its a bug because the update notes expressly said, But hey, maybe I'm just reading into things.

Item procs and poison were eliminted from critting. But profession spells as you say still do.

i can also pull up some past post from devs where they call poisens profesional procs. but yea i fogot about that line in the update.

also i'm pretty sure that what was ment by that post was that assassins lost thier critical AA from preds line not that they would not critical ever since like i said poisens have been referd to by devs as proffesional spells/procs.

Donagoness seems to be right about the bug he described.

I just slung on some spell crit chance gear (10%) and autoattacked a couple of dummies. 11% crit on hemo on 1st dummy, 14% on the other.

I then cancelled the hemo so another was auto consumed and had 0% hemo crit for 3 dummies in a row.

No thats wrong, it's the bug that I described with poisons.

Obviously stuff like peace of mind, PoTM and fanatical devotion still crit because they are castable buffs (proffesion spells or whatever) while poison is an item, and the devs stated it can no longer crit.

It was stated that the 52% spell crit was in KoS, origionally only intended to increase poison damage anyways, so even if they left poisons critting, and stopped all other things critting, they would have just left us with 52% spell crit.

But since they STOPPED poisons critting, they changed it to poison damage instead.
