thank you ....

Getting the max of out dps is not a problem so far. But after my 1st cycle the recast timers all over the place.

With Jester's cap & Dispatch if called - I can hit 3+ k, of course with Decap thrown in. After that it goes down to about 1.8k ~ 2k. I know I can be consistent on the lower end of 2k but I don't know how

(Intox) > Debuffs > DoTs > MA/PB > Concealment Chain
[ I try to have these up as often as possible: Intox & 3 yellows]

Question is how do I still circle thru' & keep it optimized / maximized?

I seperate my shit into 4 sets usually.

1-Cloak + Mark + Frontal Dotsx3

2-Concealment + Backstab

3-Mask+Punture / Cripple+Freezing + Ranged CA

4-Temp buff, frontload + Automelee

If your guild is train pulling I usually do 1-2-3 then 1-4-3 and back to 1-2-3.

Edit: I hit mark when ever it is up in between the combos.

try using your two bow attacks at the end of your cycle (make sure to let an autoattack hit as well). It should allow enough time for stuff to begin refreshing.

Like hearth said if your guild pulls fairly quickly you cant just hit the sequence of buttons because you will blow everything on one fight and then wont have anything to keep your DPS consistant for the next couple fights. The sequence is more a means of easily switching from one CA to the next in a logical order; you have to learn how best to use the CAs for a certain encounter.

For instance if I know that an encounter is probably going to last less than 45sec I do things differently than if it were to last over 1min.

This thread has helped a ton with my assassin alt.

I was doing 870 in instances normally and 1250 zone wide on raid.

Since re-specking and changing up my hot bars:

I hit 1750 zone wide in Unrest and can't wait to get into raid and try it out.

Thanks for all the tips and setups you guys are sharing!

2.5-3.5 after the proc adjustment.

Tell me about it ! I was parsing 600 when I started this thread, now I am averaging 2.6k up & up to 3.5k if I get a dirge, fury & illusionist in my group.

Here's to all the assassin mentors in the forum - YOU GUYS RULE!!

Good to see such a pronounced turnaround. Makes my ordinarily black and calloused lump of a heart feel all warm and squishy inside.

To add something even though it may not be the case of OP, it definitely effects an Assassin's DPS output and that is the Tank. The better your tank is the more shit you can do so knowing how far you can push the damage output is gonna effect parses. You don't push it enough and you don't achieve you max potential, push it too much and you got aggro and now half your CA's are worthless because the mob is beating on you. It's a pretty fine line that you just have to feel out.

Here's my set-up.

Beforehand:

Intoxication

On Pull:

Contrived Weapon

by the time this goes off I am 2 inches away from the mob.

Bladed Opening
Malignant Mark
Lucky Break => Constriction => Flowing Wound (look for Swindler's Gift, if not try Enmesh to switch it if you can)
Finishing Blow (if it's a long battle)
Sinister Strike (if up and useable)
Concealment
Crippling Strike
Cloaked Assault
Garrote
Eviscerate
Deathly Blade (if up and i am fast enough)

if concealment breaks I use Cheap Shot (non-epic) or Scraping Blow (epic) to reset. Also if breaks and I won’t be able to get Deathly Blade off. Masked Attack => Deathly Blade for good measure.

Freezing Strike (at end of Concealment)
Out to Range and into Range Combat
Honed Reflexes (if up)
Assailing Blast
Neck Shot
Spitting Asp

I go with Assailing first because I'm in impatient and jumpy player sometimes and Assailing is alittle easier to time with ranged attacks. Once I get the first timer I am in the zone with timing Neck which has the longer recast, and then I am anxious to get back in so I use Asp. Also Assailing with less damage is a little more control with aggro especially after the Concealment Combo just a second beforehand.

Honed Reflexes to me is great just as your going out for ranged attacks since there are a lot slower the buff here seems to help a lot with fast consistent damage. Then try to burn as much of it as I can coming back with melee attacks timed with some CA’s.

Back in with Contrived Weapon, then Malignant Mark, HO’s, and melee attacks timed with Bladed Opening, Gash, Scraping Blow and whatever needs to be reset. I try to time Masked Attack => Puncture Blade once I got the max out of Honed Reflexes and get Deadly Focus. By that time Concealment is back and I just cycle through that again.

If possible I end Concealment with Decap the 2nd round and back to Deathly Blade on the 3rd. By the 4th round, most epics are getting closer to death so I find this a good time to use my Miracle. Rallos's Devastation is some ignorant shit.

I use Flowing Wound to trigger the first HO mainly because it is more net damage and having those dots early is fucking imperative. I also drop Elude whenever I can to keep hate management, and Surveillance => Cloaked Assault whenever it is up. I don’t use Masked Attack => Puncture Blade early because I usually need it for Deathly Blade after Concealment. Not always but I do want it there. I like coming in with Contrived in the beginning as well as after Ranged attacks since you will put you in Melee Auto-Attack mode and does damage on the run. I definitely like it better going back in rather than coming out of melee range.

I try to stay away from Slaughtersaut, it has a poor cast time, requires stealth, and shitty recast. If it is all I got (hardly ever) then I will use, but would much rather have Cloaked go off.
