Re: DPS problem
dot all mobs in encounter....burn the assist you got from the mt you got at beginning, right before it dies switch and if you're fast with your assist keys and tabbing you should never lose dps

Okay there have to be the exceptions :P. I was merely talking about longer fights, not pull-agro, but you're right. I think we have better ways to avoid aggro than other classes. Being transfer, anti-aggro poison (if you chose to use it) etc. Always when we're doing dispell mobs I remember the times when we didn't have the transfer, and I'm frecking happy we do have it now.

Does anyone actually use the de-aggro poison anymore?
It's only useful to switch targets to DoT each mob when exacting is active, otherwise they'll do less damage (Un debuffed mob) than not fulfilling duration on a fully debuffed mob. (Imo)
PS: I wonder if that makes sense

Re: DPS problem
I still use ignorant bliss sometimes. Mainly when I'm grouping with a tank class that can't handle aggro as well. Not too long ago I had to use it in a raid because I had no one to put transfer on. Course, I really suck, so it boggled my mind that I needed it even then, but what the hey. Better to give up turgur than to die all the time, right? I also had to use it while I was grouping with a SK for a while, I think our hate transfers got bugged on one of the LUs. Seemed to be fixed last time I played though.
I've never thought about switching targets to dot during a raid. Does it help our DPS very much? I mean, by the time the reuse timers are up on the CAs, there's only a few seconds left on the DOT, right? So why not just keep burning the fully debuffed mob?

I'd encourage the OP to first get used to actually using an MA...
|
Raina's got point here. There are situations where targeting the MA instead of assisting him - ends up with us actually hitting him when he gets charmed - lots of guildies get shit for not /assist
That being said I totally agree with "fuck assist" - I'm at the cross-roads when I can't give my best dps coz I lose valuable time switching in between mobs. This is especially so when nailing the Gardener's adds.
An example of another incident I faced 2 weeks ago:
We are nailing the add that spawns with Woushi - my MT is a rock & my resident 'sasin is always grouped with him. With my recent improvement in dps (hehe ) I am usually in the MA group. My pally MA has no problems with agro as well, but this PITA basilik juz goes on rampage, what really sucks is he moves off when I get into concealment - this happens alot!! So HOW THE FUCK AM I to dps when the friggin' "target is far away" ??!!
I don't think I suck - but it doens't help when I get insinuated that I do...
PS:
Since the talk of posion came up, this is what I use:
hemo & warding ebb

Re: DPS problem
hit a range autoattack and CA (if positioning right) as you get closer is about all you can do when that happens, better yet have everyone in a big pile so it does bounce off it doesnt go anywhere.
Target macros help with things like the gardners adds, theres text that tells you they are coming so just hit the macro. Also tab through works too.
I use ignorant bliss 100% of the time, even with master deagros, hate transfer, and bliss w/ 5 in bliss AA, I still pull aggro fairly often.

First off, I just wanted to say hello to everyone since this is my first post since finding this forum the other day.
Secondly, I don't think anyone answered your question.. so I thought I would:
The G15 keyboards are great when using ACT. The keyboards actually update the damage in real time.. you can only see the top 4 or 5 (I'm at work, can't remember offhand) names at a time unless you scroll on the lcd screen.. but as the fight progresses, all of the dps numbers for each person are constantly adding up. You can watch yourself fall behind and/or take the lead... it's definitely good motivation when you start seeing someone creep up on you!
Edited: Forgot to mention that the screen holds the final numbers until a new fight begins. The minute there is any damage done by anyone (even npcs) that ACT catches, the screen goes blank and starts the new real time tally.

Re: DPS problem
Cool, thanks for answering Zenon. I guess I need to look at the keyboard more closely, as I thought it was a 1 line display.

My only complaint about the G15 lcd with ACT is that you can't lower the font size enough to see the full lines.. You can see all of the dps ratings, but some of the text after the numbers (possibly just "dps"??) gets cut off.. a little smaller text would make it a little nicer to look at. But you can see the top 4 or 5 people at all times. The only thing it doesnt show you is the line with who had the max hit.
If you are curious and don't have the keyboard, I can take a pic of the lcd screen for you so you can see it how it's displayed.
