Default Re: ACT questions

Two questions.
1. Does it affect ACT at all if I tell EQ2 to show minimum combat output? I assume when you have that option selected, it makes your logs smaller, and I noticed that the damage messages are greatly simplified, But, since I'm not sure what it was actually logging, I'm not sure if it was doing enough for ACT to be able to tell the difference in what is causing each damage type. I've been using medium output ever since I installed ACT.

2. How much does it lag the game to have ACT on another computer on your home network? I assume its not as much, but there should still be some amount of lag since the game is now having to publish all that data on the network.

Pretty sure for question one, your actual logs (maintained in the EQ2\Logs subdirectory) will still have all the data ACT needs to parse your info. The filter just changes what appears in your chat box.

#2 I can't answer

I haven't tried it personally. But, I would imagine that ACT will only be using CPU/Memeory resources on the computer that is running the program. The game itself wouldnt be putting info across your lan, rather ACT is going out to a network share(your log folder) and pulling the info from there. That is the reason behind this feature; to free up resourses on the game PC.
