Default Getaway

Some one just posted on the other board that you can attack in Getaway up to a min and still get the AoE protect.

anyone want to confirm that is true?

I don't have it anymore but the instant in-combat stealth was pretty useful if you have so many points in physicality anyways. As an AOE avoid it's pretty limited - raids already have strategies for dealing with this. I did like to use the AOE avoid for things like incoming vampires with charm. You usually can't time it well enough to use it as a joust avoider without losing some dps. (Even ranged auto-attack while you're running is SOME dps)

It's not useless just not useful, either :P Sort of like most of the EOF tree.

It's not that useful. Its best use is an in-combat instant stealth. The AOE-avoid isn't that good because everybody already deals with it. I used the AOE avoid mostly on things like vampires incoming which could group charm (when in MT).

Sure, it's not *completely* useless, just a joke for an end line ability. Actually, that's not true - jokes are funny.

Yeah, this was changed a while back. The uses for Getaway are currently limited to "I need another insta-cast invis", "I need to sprint like a fiend for 10seconds", or "Oh shit I stayed in on that joust call a little too long."

Its pretty good for any AE which requires a long distance joust because it allows you to stay in doing damage longer and get back to dps'ing after the call (unless you get stuck with one of those mysterious invis popping events).

FFS, gateway is useless. Only time I think I would use it is...never.

We are getting a another 12 sec aoe immunity on our KoS Sta line.
Hey wake the fuck up soe, if I didn't pick an aoe immuity the first fucking time on my eof tree, chances are I don't need it and I don't want it. Stop making random decision, any Dev actually play an assassin?

Truthfully, I don't see the use in most of the EoF AA line abilities. For my money, Getaway isn't much better nor much worse than the other 2 (besides repeated stabbing) choices.

All things being equal, Getaway offers some PvE and some PvP utility. I do agree though... the abilities are extremely lacking.

Getaway aka AFKaway is just the best thing to get a fresh coffee during a Wuoshi fight so you don't have to run all the way out :P.

Not that I'd ever do such a thing.

Getaway = the win.

Getaway + sprint = 100% speed increase + Gnomish stilts = jumping from blood haze inn to the broker building.

No other classes aa's give you something that cool!



On a positive note I find Getaway to be useful enough, when concealment chains break or the mob breaks you invis before you can get a skill off, its useful enough for me.

Besides... you have to get quite a bit of stuff in that line, so its not like you sacrifice much to get it.
