Default Re: Assassin AA Tree's

So thanks to the old respec card, I'm feeling a little curious -- plus I haven't done the Assassin thing long enough to get any habits formed.

I went down the STR and AGI lines for the hell of it - my thoughts are that I get more power thx to the AGI bonus but more importantly, I'm critting 20% from my ranged attacks (not to mention the procs off Raincaller), I'm gaining increased in combat speed, and the end line increases CA speed (I believe) by 35%.

Truthfully I'm one AA away from getting that final line so I haven't played with it yet, but it will be intersting to see how I parse in most settings. Anyone have experience with this setup?

Would help you out a fair amount soloing probably, not much raiding or grouping since you are not going to be ranged very much. The final ability decreases casting speeds which are already very very fast for an assassin, it helps the ranger out more since their CAs have a lot longer cast time.

Agi is probably the last line Id recommend to an Assassin, its obviously geared towards rangers. You will get much better results with INT or STA (INT being the greater of the two)

Couple questions

Assassin tree:

Wouldn't maxing out all your bleeding CA's be more important than repeated stabbing? Most of those are on short recast timers, so you hit them often and does the recovery time really mean that much?
(This coming from someone who clicks his CA's with his mouse, so human delay is involved)

Frontload is nice if you got alot of proc gear..right?

On the flip side would it be more important to get you debuffs increased? I feel no since in a raid you generally got enough debuffs form other toons.

My best parse was actually done when my AA's were setup with no "Final abilities" in my assassin tree. I have since changed to experiment.

If you're clicking with your mouse, you won't do enough DPS anyways.

There's combinations which are just faster on the keyboard, like masked-backstab, or the concealment chain. Especially if you have repeated stabbing. Also you can react faster with a keypress if something misses or doesn't fire.

There is always enough casting time + recovery time between two CAs, even with RS. I can always click fast enough, so that the next CA gets placed in the queue. And I'm sure, I am not the quickest with the mouse.
Only time where the keyboard comes in handy for me, is like you say when I have to react very quickly on an event, like drink a cure potion or sth. I assigned keys for that.
I think it's just a matter of personal taste and what you are used to.

So, do you use keymapping, or are you just using the shortcuts native to each toolbar? Because I find all of those shortcuts except for the primary toolbar to be too cumbersome.

Ctrl+a number key

Just curious what people's assassin only aa lines are. Personally i have the bleeding line with the final debuff aa and poison line for increased ignorant bliss reduction/frontload and treed off to get 5 points into exacting. anybody else using this same setup.

I know this is like beating a dead horse to death but alot of changes have happen.

Right now I have Getaway Spec'd down and Frontload.

I'm really debating whether to keep Getaway or go with Bleeding and/or Repeated Stabbing.

In terms of pure dps numbers, what do you think will lead to high DPS, all other things equal?
